A new version running under Java Version 14 has been released. This version no longer requires a Java Runtime environment to be be installed. It currently only runs under Windows 10. macOS and linux are in the pipeline. How to install instructions are attached.

One thing I forgot to add is that the text scaling is the 0.9 at the end of this line in the AG.bat.

Adjust that number until you are happy with the font size.
_____________

I created two runtime environments for linux and macOS as well. There are two zip files in the release area named accordingly. After downloading and unzipping the W10 version, download and unzip your OS file (e.g. linux.zip for linux) into the same location. The shell scripts for your OS should be in a folder called linux_sh or macOS_sh. I have no idea if they will work, and as they were created in W10, they will need the execution bit set. The process to follow with them is the same as W10. If you do get it to work, please post what you did here to help the rest of the community.

For any other operating systems, you will need to run jlink with a JDK 14 for that OS. My jlink batch file for the linux runtime that I created is attached and has all the arguments and modules that will be required

Hi Kipper,
I have downloaded AGL 14 as per the instructions.
When I run AGL and select Converts DC's into a graphical path, there is no map. All maps unzipped and in the correct folder.
I have deselected OpenGL as my PC comes up with the message: ERROR : OpenGL is not supported on this computer. But still no map.
Any suggestions?
Dave
Sorry.
All Windows 10
Dave, the non GL version requires the tiles folder which I forgot to include. Download tiles.zip and unzip it into you Java14 folder. You should now have a maps and a tiles folder next to each other. I'm really not supporting that interface any more and it is really old.

What is more important is that you work out why you don't have OpenGL support on your computer. Windows 10 supports OpenGL, even in software. I suggest you research why that is. You also might have OpenGL support turned off in your graphics card settings.
I missed a library that causes AIS not to work. I've placed the patch in the release area and it is called agl_lib_patch.zip. If you have already downloaded AGL14, download this file and unzip it the same way as you did the main release.
Thanks Kipper,
I have now downloaded both maps and tiles but still no luck. The map started to go in the Cape town to Auckland race on the last day. I had the North part of New Zealand but not the finish area. Now its nothing.
My graphics card is a bit old and according to Intel, does not even support W10 let alone OpenGL.
I may have to resort to previous version of AGL and see what happens.
Dave
Success!
Logged into future race as Guest and get land.
Thank you Kipper. Hopefully now all ok.
hi Kipper, I never had AGL before, I downloaded AGL14 file and followed all instructions, but when I run AG14_pause.bat I get this window; can you please help?
Thank you in advance

Refeno Rally 2024

Although since 1986 this 300nm course from Recife, Brazil, to Fernando Noronha Island has been run many times IRL, we have only used this route twice in SOL. This time it will be the route of the last race in the ARCH 2024 classification.
Although the winner of the general classification can already be determined, the fight for the next places on the podium should be fierce. There are several contenders and Dofour34 have them at their disposal. Since we are starting in Vida_Maldita's home waters, he will give us a 30-minute handicap. Or maybe we should give it to him? 😊

The Beagle in the Azores 2024

And west the Beagle went one final time to round the Cape of Good Hope on May 31 1836. Ashore, Darwin met up with the Astronomer Royal, Herschel, who just happened to be in South Africa at the same time mapping the southern skies. After sounding out his many ideas on evolution and extinction with Herschel, the Beagle now sailed north, stopping briefly in St Helena, Ascension and Brazil, and the Cape Verdes again, to reach the Azores on September 19, 1836. Fitzroy and Darwin at this stage were in a hurry to get back to Britain, but online in 2024 we will stay a little longer to explore this final remote archipelago in our virtual Tall Ship Class B Beagle, 630nm round and about the islands, minding as always in these waters not to bump into any large cetaceans!
