SYC rankings

Rankings

The SYC rankings are designed with fairness in mind. The philosophy is to favour active and skilled members and still make new members feel welcome.

Dynamic rankings

The races included in the dynamic rankings change over time. Every time a new race is added, the oldest one is dropped.

SYC ranking: Sailonline's lead ranking. Best 10 races out of the last 30 races.

Ocean Race Championship: best 6 out of the last 10 ocean races.

Week Race Championship: best 7 out of the last 14 races held on working days.

Week-End Race Championship: best 7 out of the last 14 races held during the week-end.

Series rankings

The series rankings cover a fixed series of races.

Sailonline World Race 2011 - 2012: A global race in nine legs - Ranking will be done based on the best 6 out of this 9 legs.

SOL Global Challenge 2011: A global race in six legs - each counting towards the series.

Asian Sprints 2011: A series of four races in the Orange Cat designed by The Horn from Hong Kong to Subic Bay, Manila to Bangkok, Bangkok to Singapore, Singapore to Ko Tapu. Who will be SOL's 2011 Dragon?

Iberian Tour2010: ranking of the 4 races round Spain.

Bosphore - Bretagne 2009: ranking of the 3 races between Istambul, Nice, Barcelona and Brest.

French SOLo 2009: ranking of the 4 races between Lorient, La Coruna, St Gilles Croix de Vie, Dingle and Dieppe.

Sailonline Ocean Race 2008-2009: best 6 out of 9 races round the world, 6 ocean races and 3 inport races.

SYCC 2008: ranking of Gran Canaria to Rio de Janeiro, Miami to Kingstown, and Rabat to Alicante.

Ranking system

Sailonline's rankings are computed according to a low-score ISAF-like system: the rankings of every race included in the overall ranking are simply summed up.

If you don't start after registering or don't finish a race, your ranking as shown on the race leaderboard will be taken into account.

If you don't register for a race, the number of registered boats plus one will be used to compute your overall ranking. There is thus never a penalty for registering to a race.
