i can feel a boom in the turkish boats registration soon :)

just as an advise, turkish people are usually impatient hence i would suggest to start the registration to the race asap, the new comers should practice with their own boat.

The passage of the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles will be terrible. The limit from the buoy Samos would have been more open if there was no buoy Antalya. This will be a great race. Prepare your thermos of coffee for the night!
(Excuse me, I'm FR_MJedi_SAL and I used the login "sol" to see the covers in detail. I forgot to reconnect under my login)

It is that time of year again.. well nearly! The annual Sail around Turkey race is in the calendar and all ready to race, starting on Tuesday, 7 August @1600utc.

The first year we raced in First 40s, last year we raced in Imoca 60s so... what do we think would be best this year?

90ft Mono
Will sail it as long as it floats most of the time... ;-)
I like to talk a lot... sometimes I even make sense, mostly not...
suggest orange 125 catamaran...should be fun
TUR_AC!! OK!.. hehehe as you are a co-course designer and the original organisers of this race your wish shall be my command :-) Would be fun to get a pic of a big cat in Turkish waters IRL!

Do the Turkish yachting magazines have websites? Maybe someone could post a link to the race once it is on-SOL (which will be over the weekend!) :-D

Africa by Sea - Abidjan to Swakopmund

Our exploration of Africa by Sea continues. Next, it’s off to Swakopmund, on the water’s edge of the Kalahari desert. It’s a wind-blasted coast, and a venue of choice for those seeking to set wind-powered speed records. More likely than not, we’ll have to beat into it in our Steinlager II, to finally find some shelter behind the walls of Platz am Meer where there is a marina of sorts. Only 2200nm!
