I hope it is not too late to apply, because i would join the SOTP club with pride (and bad results as usual...), sailing only using the site and the android app.

Flagpole news: I have set the SOTP flag for everyone who had _SOTP added to their boatname by RainbowChaser after posting in this thread. You can manually hoist and lower flags for your boat. Have a look at the "RETRO" flag for the die hard SOTP'ers.

Anyway, now you can find an (unofficial) SOTP ranking here: http://sol.kroppyer.nl/flagpole/index.php?view=ranking&raceid=1135&flagid=5
I only know SOTP, which did not pay attention to this polar. I miss AGage's 'polar explorer' program, as cannot read the Rustler 36 vmg vmc lines. If not too late, I accept the terms as well.

I agree to sail SOTP all the way....

@bimmer

This is an archive of a lot of things inclusive sourcecode. But not an executable file.

Seems to have been made with microsoft visual studio 2004.

Maybe one of the sol-programmers can compile the source-code into a working .exe

I noticed but can't help.
Maybe Huib (kroppyer) can?
In the initial notes for this race, SOTP was described as: "Seat Of The Pants (SOTP) with no outside assistance from routing software or other external aids, relying solely on the SOL predictor line and dead reckoning for navigation." However, some here have mentioned they will sail SOTP but also use WX Inspector for example.

Is there a race note or similar which clearly states what may be used if one sails SOTP for this race? cheers.
Viva John and all.

Good morning.

In relation to your question I think the right answer is "no".

Anyhow, using the so called "WX Inspector" in this race and accordingly to its spirit , at least to me, is totally pacific.

You should always know your boat Performance Targets, using or not anykind of weather routing software.

""I pledge to sail SOTP for these races. Not a big commitment as it is how I always sail.
Hopefully all entrants will sail SOTP so that we won't be able to check our individual dead reckoning against those that use routers and other aids."'
Indeed. I also think the spiriot of this race is to go just on your 6 hour pred line in SOL. Maybe opt angels as a tool to find min max twa, but thats it?

I wish you brave guys & girls all the best on this one..it will be long!

Good luck and FW!
