Apurimac superior order

Sailing to the source of Amazon river.

iomkiwi is the one! hurra!
So where do I get this badge - I can't find it in the list :))
Thanks, but after looking around that site maybe Iquitos would be better as that is as far as our sol map goes

Back to the top with this one!

What would be neat is if someone could go through our races and identify which were eligible for which honour!!

:-)

A nice job for someone prepared to do the homework.

In the meantime I might try and do something for races as they crop up... maybe its something we could put in the race calendar?! or maybe not.. as this is just for fun...

:-D

NOTE
Browse the first couple of pages as there are additional badges mentioned (I hadn't spotted before)

Thanks RC for coaching me to get badges on my avatar. I have been away far too long and have so much reading to catch up on about SOL and SYC developments in teh last few years. I promise not to be absent for so long again :)

I can't remember all the plaes I have journeyed to over teh years, so been conservative with badge selection - looking forward to building on it .....

This goes round and round.. but here are all the badges with images that have been proposed. The honours are nearly all based on real nautical honours... here's some info

Page for Downloads:

Is there anyone out there who can take this further - automate it in some way? Improve on AGage's original "Badge-r"? would be great fun!

mmmm ... what's the difference between "Order of Golden Shellback" and "Sacred Order of the Golden Dragon"? ... in both definitions, it comes of the intersection between the equator and the line of date change ...

FW all
Carlo Alberto
The only difference I could see from here is that the dragon references appear in connection with wooden ships??

I think we should keep with 76T's original definition for SOL on the first page of this thread.

The Golden Dragon is for International Date line... the Golden Shellback is for Lon 180/Lat 0 ...

That is how it has been up to now anyway and as so few use the badges I think its fine as it is!

Beru to Bora Bora 2018
Welcome to the islands of the Pacific, whose original migrants arrived from Indonesia and reached as far as Hawaii and beyond. This Sailonline race, designed by SOLer Dingo in 2015, is a 2219nm segment of those original migration routes, and takes us from Beru Island in Kiribati to Bora Bora in Tahiti. Around Principe 2018
Between zero and two degrees north of the equator in the middle of the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of West Africa lies the Republic of Sao Tome & Principe, once upon a time Dutch settlements and until very recently a Portuguese colony. A tad remote these islands are, but this did not stop our very own MustangMark spotting an excellent opportunity for a sprint round the nation’s smaller, more northerly Principe in swirling, hires doldrums wind. 30nm in Farr30s; it could take longer than you’d think!

Golden Globe Race - Leg 1 to Storm Bay
Welcome, all, to the 2018 Golden Globe Race and Sailonline’s virtual version of this iconic 50th anniversary rerun of 1968’s first ever non-stop single-handed round-the-world race in yachts and with technology in keeping with that historic time.
To reflect the challenge being undertaken by the real racers, as announced previously, SOL invites all who feel so inclined to add their boat name to the post in FORUM declaring you will race by the proverbial "Seat Of The Pants" (SOTP) with no outside assistance from routing software or other external aids, BEFORE THE STARTING GUN IS FIRED.
To simulate the real race which features a 90 minute minimum stopover in Storm Bay, SOL’s online version has been divided into two legs. This first leg then is from Les Sables-d’Olonne to Storm Bay. When the leaders approach Storm Bay, Leg 2 from thence back to Les Sables via Cape Horn, will open. YOU MAY NOT START LEG 2 UNTIL AT LEAST 90 MINUTES AFTER FINISHING LEG 1. The penalty for starting Leg 2 before finishing Leg 1 is NO RANKING. The penalty for starting Leg 2 within 90 minutes of finishing Leg 1 is 5x the time you started too early.
DO NOT START TOO EARLY!
Fair winds and good luck!!
