Sorry, that was me as sol.
“We may have arrived on different ships, but we are all in the same boat now!” Martin Luther King Jr.
The one-a-month idea sounds about right to me too... and I like the idea that the finish in Adelaide should sort-of coincide with Aaron's anniversary. My personal preference is no official series but... let's see how others respond. I've put a link to my earlier post into FB to spread the word.
I think it should be an official series and only drop one race.

Great work with the race, looking forward to it.

Kevin
My two cents on this Topic:

Make it a Series with no drops. Remebering AGages Efforts on SOL, the winner of this series should need to pay maximum efforts too.

Don't let the gaps between the Stages become too long, to keep the Series together. A Weekend-Race every Month doesn't look much like a connected Series...
I don't know how fixed the dates have to be according to other scheduled races, but maybe the gaps might match the time the winner spent on the last Leg.

As it is an Aussie series the Starts shall be during Aussie-daytime which is early morning or middle of the night in Europe and USA, so starts should be scheduled on Weekends as it might be easier to stay awake if there's no Alarm ringing next morning. ;)
Sounds very good

Agree with Taz. No Drops. I have never agreed with idea of drops in sail racing--it is just "pretend"---that "I" didn't do THAT badly!!!
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
This may be a really stupid question but what are drops?

I think Rod means "dropping a race from the series" ... so the result isn't the sum of all the results but just the sum of X out of Y (total) races.

:-)

I think i agree.. either no series OR a full series. Aaron would deffo be all for a full series!!
Ahoi Pat !

Drops are if in a series ,for example, just your best 6 results of ten races are counted. The 4 worse results "drop" out of the ranking, i.e. are not counted...

My two cents :

In this very special case I think every race should be counted, no drops.. If every race is as well counted for SYC ranking, sailors can concentrate to do a few good races or go for the series...

Cheers,

Roland..

Andaman Islands PYOC 2025

The Andaman Islands are an archipelago, made up of 200 islands, in the northeastern Indian Ocean. Together with the Nicobar Islands to their south, the Andamans serve as a maritime boundary between the Bay of Bengal to the west and the Andaman Sea to the east. These waters will be the theater of our next 240nm race in the ARCH 2025 series. Which one you choose depends only on you, i.e. your Elan 410 sport will leave the Andaman Islands on the starboard or port side.

Isla San Lorenzo RTI 2025

SOL’s SRC (Sailonline Race Committee) has taken us to some unusual places in the past, and San Lorenzo Island off Lima’s Callao peninsula is definitely another one. Housing a naval base and a penal institution, no vessel is allowed within 300m of its shores. Also, with no sources of potable water, it is a matter of debate whether it is an island at all, and not just a large rock. So, whatever you do, don’t be tempted to BBQ; you’ll be arrested and go thirsty! We return for the first time since 2018 to race thirteen potentially unlucky miles in J-30s; have fun!!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
