Possibly because I had "ROADS" or something similar ticked in Google Earth. Currentlty on laptop, not desktop so can't check settings. However it did show motorways / roads linking islands in the Lat/logs stated (correctly i hope).

If it breaks, it's not strong enough!

I think you are refering to the two bridges, who connects Fyn and Mainland Jylland!! the southernmost is the old one (1935 i think), The Northernmost is the new one ( ca. 1972). A beautifull one.
Actually, when I visit my parents in law, I can see both of them at the same time (if I turn my head a bit ;-)

EDIT: Doublepost.

Certainly looks nice and possibly I could fit my yacht under it LOL.

Here again having a real chart optional display with depths and clearances would make SoL more interesting, IMHO, instead of basic white sea.

Google earth helps, but does knot have the nautical information overlay that a proper marine chart would show.

YEP! Eveningpic from North on Fyn-side. This is where the AFR2011 really find its master :-)
Hi Hawk - the race has now been set up in SOL. The wx system has had its lats/lons adjusted but it was done too late to catch the 1030 wx update so the change will be visible after the next update this afternoon.

To view the race for comment/amendment of course/waypoints just do this.

Log in as the sol boat.

Hi RC - I PR the AFR2011, but my boat didnt stop, when I crossed the FL. Is it a bug?
Hawk
If I'm not mistaken, these are set up like practice races so the server doesn't "recognize" your finish. That way you can keep sailing to work out any issues in the course. I'm sure RC will have a better description/response.

SP

PS: I'm right behind you on the course!
Obviously... since forgot I was logged as SOL, again!! No doubt more protest from PaulR pending!

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
