A new version is here. There is an update and the full version. If AGL is already installed, you only need the update. This versions allows the OpenGL engine to be turned off and will still work with basic graphics. Also has a couple of bug fixes.
All 'AGL14_3_6' updates of 14 feb 2022 11:41 have now a working AG14InstallDir.bat

Hi Kipper.
I have downloaded 14_3_6 full but when I copy AG14_pause.bat and AG14.bat into my race folder and then run AG14_pause.bat I get this in the cmd. Folders have been checked correct. Any ideas?

C:\SOL\Feb race>C:SOL\Java14"jre_windows\bin\java.exe -Dsun.java2d.uiScale.enabled=false -Dfile.encoding=UTF8 -classpath "C:SOL\Java14"agl14_3_6.jar;C:SOL\Java14"agl14_lib\*;" main.AGMain autoGribLoader.ini
'C:SOL\Java14"jre_windows\bin\java.exe -Dsun.java2d.uiScale.enabled=false -Dfile.encoding=UTF8 -classpath "C:SOL\Java14"agl14_3_6.jar;C:SOL\Java14"agl14_lib\*' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\SOL\Feb race>pause
Press any key to continue . . .
There's a problem with AG14InstallDir.bat. Change the first line to
setx AG14InstallDir "C:\SOL\Java14\\"

and run it again. I've also put a copy on OneDrive that you can download
Now working. I had missed a backslash!!
New version here called AGL14_3_8_update.zip and must be installed as an update. Fixes the wrong bearing being used for VMC calculation in the boat data table.
@kipper
I had attached some text with, at the end, the content of a batch file that would set the environment variables ag14installdir and ag14version correctly whereever you would have installed AGL.

I removed the attachment. I should not attach executable things? Something like that.

Hi Kipper,

So I have AGL working but I have not been a PC guy for a long time and it looks like I need to buy the full version of qtVLM to do much of anything useful.

Looking forward to working things out! Thanks for what was/is a ton of work.
Using a Win 10 Dell Latitude

Been trying to get QT to play with AGL. qt is not getting the NMEA feed. Badger1 and I looked at all settings but were stumped. Any help appreciated. Read thru forum for tips...none that I could find apply.

I'm new to Win10 so is there a security hangup?

AGL says NMEA server started and ready for connection on port 5010.

My Boat info is correctly showing in AGL.

qt NMEA settings correspond to AGL's and match what I use on my Mac.

any thoughts?
QTvlm>Configuration>
Tab: NMEA connections
click networksources
tcp click server1 on and put in first 127.0.0.1
and in second 5010
click on OK

with me all works fine

Africa by Sea - Abidjan to Swakopmund

Our exploration of Africa by Sea continues. Next, it’s off to Swakopmund, on the water’s edge of the Kalahari desert. It’s a wind-blasted coast, and a venue of choice for those seeking to set wind-powered speed records. More likely than not, we’ll have to beat into it in our Steinlager II, to finally find some shelter behind the walls of Platz am Meer where there is a marina of sorts. Only 2200nm!

Newport to Annapolis 2025

The Newport to Annapolis race, first held in 1947, is one of the most historic and well-known US East Coast blue water races. Linking two seaports dating from the US nation's birth, Annapolis and Newport, the race contrasts the country's largest estuary, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Since 1969, the route has run from Annapolis through the Chesapeake Bay to Newport. The SOLers will sail 470nm in their Carkeek40s in the original direction from Newport to Annapolis, including the Chesapeake, which is such a daunting challenge that the 1997–98 Whitbread Round the World Race for the Volvo Trophy added it to the course, as did the Volvo Ocean Race in 2002 and 2006.
