The clock is counting down to the start of the first ever challenge of SOLers by a school!! Students at Friskolen Osterlund, ably led by FRI Hawk54, are making preparations and will be ready to give SOLers a trouncing on the morrow!

Race start is 1000utc tomorrow, Friday, 30 September!!

Dear all sailors in AFR 2011 !!

Thank you for your response on this Race.

I am very sorry, not having being as much online, as I had planned - very far from!!

Unfortunally, I was called away, Saturday 10 a.m., because my Father-in-law was very sick, and actually passed away at 3 am, Sunday morning.

Therefor, you missed a lot of information during the course - also, I was not able to wake up my students, because of very little online access.

I hope you will join again next year, where we will start later, friday (like 1800 UTC).

Hi Hawk so sorry to hear about your father-in-law.

The winds weren't conducive to an active race.. maybe we run it in the spring-time rather than end-summer next year?

The course is a really excellent one and, picking a time of year with strong(er) winds should make the race a lot more challenging.

Oct/Nov next year we can run AFR again.

Actually I was a little dissapointed about the course in the beginning, but during the Race, I found that it did have several fine points. Adding some wind, and it is an OK Race I think.
