	So cannot even get started. Apparently I am stuck in Ireland drinking beer. My son says he can see me there. Looked for clues on the websites but none work. Others obviously have the same problem http://www.sailonline.org/windy/run/147/# just sits there like a wet sheep

	Hi Cleaning the cache of the browser helps out most commen problems with no display. Check if you have a good version of flash installed (not needed if it was ok before). We have some cases of people behind a proxy-server that experiencing problems. Let us know if this helps, sorry to be so technical. I am a ex-admin of SOL who joins in from time to time.

	Still stuck in the pub. Flash upgraded and the other one. Cache cleaned. Tried IE and Firefox. Closed firewall (and reopened it). Turned modem thing off and on. Swore at the computer. First time this sort of thing has happened. Strange

	So sailonline did work before you had this problem? You have sailed in other races without issues? Real strange I will see what other tips I can give. I am a ex-admin of SOL who joins in from time to time.

	Yup. It is strange. Mind you, I am behind the Great China Firewall, but it lets me into the website http://www.sailonline.org/windy/run/147/# and I get the screen with three icons on the left top, and the message at the bottom, "waiting to download the weather map". If it was the Great Chinese Firewall, they would not let me into the website at all, never mind make posts.. I just registered on http://www.sailonline.org/windy/run/148/# but the same thing. I have no problem with the Volvo race and finished 1,000,000th or something.

	Real odd, I will pass this on to one of the other guys, maybe he has some tips or tricks you can try. I am a ex-admin of SOL who joins in from time to time.

	If you are in China it's probably proxy servers that is in some way confusing our servers....

Melbourne to Osaka Prelude 2024

Welcome once again to what these days is Sailonline’s almost annual virtual Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. In real life, this double-handed 5500 nm race between these two sister cities, one deep in the southern hemisphere, the other high in the northern hemisphere, is run every four to five years, and is planned to be held again in 2025, so this race is a Prelude in partnership with the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2025 organising committee collaborating with the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV), and the Sandringham (SYC) and Osaka Hokko (OHYC) yacht clubs. On this occasion, we’ll be racing the well-known First 40, a popular size of boat for a long-distance double-handed race. With the doldrums unavoidably lying across the track, you can expect to be at virtual sea for at least a month!

Cape Town to Auckland 2024
