Board » Sailonline Yacht Club » 2018 SMPF SCHEME

=======================================
2018 SMPF IS LOOKING FOR SPONSORS !!!!! :)
=======================================

As you all know the SMPF scheme (SYC Membership Pay Forward) has been a success in 2017.

At the end of some 12 races in 2017 ( one each month) one annual membership to the Sailonline Yacht Club was made available by a member of the SOL Community to the best finishing NON member in each race. The 12 winners are now happy members of SYC and compete for one year in all rankings.

The 2017 sponsors did either make their Sponsorship publicly known, or acted anonymously under the flag of the Sailonline Yacht Club.

The SMPF scheme will continue in 2018, and the Board is now looking for Sponsors throughout the Club Community. The number of slots available is extremely limited, as again in 2018 ONLY ONE SMPF race per month will be nominated and sponsored.

By responding promptly to this invitation you will secure yourself a slot in the 2018 Sponsorship list , and if the number of available slots will be completed prior to your proposed sponsorship , you can rest assured that you will be given priority list for 2019.

All you need to do at this time is to write to: coord@sailonline.org , and confirm your willingness to support the SMPF scheme in 2018. If you want you can also indicate which race you would like to sponsor . All possible efforts to satisfy you desire will be made.

Some important information before you decide:

1)– Your participation to the scheme, should you want to remain anonymous, will be treated in fully confidential mode by the Coordinator and the Sailonline Nav Sim AB President, who will be the only two persons aware of your position in the scheme.

2)- This is by no means a solicitation to invest USD 35,00 into our platform, and you should not in any way feel obliged to adhere to the scheme.

3)- The prerequisite of not being a SYC member for the past twelve months to become eligible for the SMPF scheme , in case of finishing first of non-members, has been confirmed for the 2018 scheme.

We look forward to hearing from you and to a well supported 2018 SMPF scheme!

On behalf of Sailonline NAV SIM AB

SOL COOrdinator

Lake Ontario 300 Challenge 2026

Lake Ontario Offshore Racing (LOOR) welcomes Sailonline sailors to a second virtual version of a race in their annual series, and for the sixth year in succession the LO300. As the name implies, the LO300 is a 300nm offshore race across the length and breadth of Lake Ontario, from and back to Port Credit YC. This year, for the first time, we will be racing the 300nm circuit in Sun Fast 3200s. As usual, there is an overall prize for the SOLer who best bosses Lake Ontario over the two races hosted by Sailonline, this LO300 and the Susan Hood raced back in May, and this year also the race and the Susan Hood count towards the title of Super Buddy 2026; so, let the competition be fierce!

New Ice Age 2026 - Neumayer Station to Scott Base

For a second-half of long-distance ice-boating, we take our DNs to Antarctica for a circumnavigation of that continent in two legs clockwise, in harmony with the prevailing winds (such as there are), beginning with a race from Germany’s Neumayer Station to New Zealand’s Scott Base. It’s about 3500nm, which, if there’s wind at all, should, well-wrapped in your DN-cockpits, not take you much more than five days. And remember: charts down here are unreliable – what is land and what is ice?!
