Board » Flag Officers » Races » SSANZ RNI 2014

Sailonline is delighted to announce that it will again be running New Zealand's prestigious Round North Island Race in association with SSANZ. This is the second time that Sailonline will have hosted this race on its virtual navsim platform and the first time that the entire real fleet will be trackable on our race screen via the onboard trackers from Yellowbrick

The race will start from Devonport Wharf, Auckland, at 0100utc on 8 February 2014, and in all will comprise four legs:

Leg 1 Auckland to Mangonui
Leg 2 Mangonui to Wellington
Leg 3 Wellington to Napier
Leg 4 Napier to Auckland.

Essential Reading
The real race has a formula by which race legs will open (after the initial one) which is explained here

PLEASE NOTE:
Sailonline will be competing as closely as is virtually possible with the real yachts and consequently may be forced to give a minimum of 24hrs notice of a start time. It is intended to close each leg promptly, in harmony with the real race, but we hope to give some allowance here. It is likely that overlap between legs of the virtual race will not exceed 24hrs. As always, SYC ranking will be your position at leg close. Leg 4 is the nominated SYC Championship race for February.

where is the SOL-RNI series ranking?
ciao
Bernd
K3 - it was listed as 2014 Round North Island .... but on reflection I this it will be better as 2014 SSANZ RNI so that will be its new name.

I will go and make the change now :-)

Danke!
Thanks RC!
Any word on the start of 4th leg?
IRL:
Leg 4 start 1100 Friday 21st Feb

(2200z on 20 FEB)
For all the last three legs SSANZ has given the start times in local time. So unless they have changed for this leg the Start is at 11:00 NZDT, Friday 21 Feb.
For us the start should be 22:00 UTC, Thurs. 20 Feb.

Sry...I mistook the "z" after your 22:00 for NZT instead of zulu time.
