Maybe someting as simple as a prefix to the boat name ie 1ybwlopud indicating one skipper or 2ybwlopud indicating 2 people are able to control the boat etc. This would enable you to quickly see in the boat names those boats with only 1 skipper for example by entering 1 in the search box

    Quoting SOL Manual v.4 - Chapter 8 - FAQ

Q: Can me and a friend "share" a boat although we do not share the same computer, or even live in the same country?

A: Yes, no problem. Just share your login details and you are all set to share the boat. Only question is -do you trust your friend?

To me it is clearly stated, and so it has been intepreted by everyone so far, that two people can share the boat handling, a.k.a. boatsitting. If I am wrong I would hear it from the SOL Gods.
To me that implies 2 people one boat A.K.A a team.

    Dictionary definition is:
"YourDictionary defines teamwork as the actions of individuals, brought together for a common purpose or goal, which subordinate the needs of the individual to the needs of the group. In essence, each person on the team puts aside his or her individual needs to work towards the larger group objective. The interactions among the members and the work they complete is called teamwork.

    really strange the whole discussion....
I made the same call "Exme! you are going back!, in the chat 2 days before (as he was really going in the OPPOSITE direction) and there where no complains/comment at all...

May be because was just at the beginning of the leg??
Next time I will apply what UC suggest and forget the rule of friendship across the world generated by SOLing that had motivated my shout...

No problems making a shout, thats good, but surely if you are looking at the chat window you can see your boat in trouble??

Personally I do not think Exmer should be RAF. In this instance Exmer did not do anything wrong. The rules should be made clearer and in the future if this sort of thing goes on behind closed doors then it will be those people who are spoiling SOL.
I am not moaning and complaining by starting this thread, but just trying to clarify the rules so that SOL is fair to everyone.
Falling asleep, mis setting DC's etc is the equivalent to IRL of breaking something on the boat by pushing to hard, its good to see the top boats make mistakes as it shows that they are like the rest of us...HUMAN :-)

Don't get me wrong I am not making accusations or looking for apologies. Without you guys UC, Exmer, ITA's, Viking etc who show true devotion to the game SOL would be no where near as much fun and educational as it is.
You've got to feel for people such as RAFA who was just pipped to the post by Exmer and ohm and Adam who beached next to the finish line and no one to jump in and correct for them. Looking after a boat for a few hours when asked to is very different from what happened above.
Again well done for your devotion, competitiveness and expertise and thanks Kalle for a great game.

At 0743 in leg 6 of the round the world ITA 2011 noticed Exmer on a strange tack UC logged into Emers acct and as no DC was set presumed Exmer was asleep and so put him back on course.
They had not been asked to baby sit the boat Exmer had made a mistake and they saved him a few places.
We all oversleep and get delayed and suffer the consequences but to see all the "top" boats baby sitting each other ruins the game for me. ITA2011 is a team, fair enough, but is it fair to all the genuine players playing on their own in the true spirit of the game?
Maybe we should only be allowed to log in from 1 PC?

Sail Around Turkey 2025

Welcome to the 11th running of one of Sailonline's most iconic races, where our fleet races the length of the Turkish coastline from Hopa (the easternmost harbour on Turkey’s Black Sea coast) to Iskenderun (the easternmost harbour on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast). It’s a 1,372nm race and aboard our classic, 1st decade of the 21st Century, version 2 IMOCA 60, you should be able to get around the course in less than a week. That is if, of course, once you get out of the Black Sea you don’t stop to enjoy the sights or a BBQ or two in the Golden Horn, or on the Marble Islands, now land-locked Troy or Gallipoli or any of the myriad Aegean islands, that you shall have to carefully navigate past.
