    SJ29,
I just read your PSfP and found it to be fantastic. I have no idea why I haven't seen it as it is nearly 18 months old.
I love how you captured your thoughts and your moves. No matter now much success a SOLer has, having the MASTER SOLers chasing you leaves a lump in your stomach.
    Well done,
    Doug (Freyja) 😊

Amazing! I can't think of a person more deserving of a perfect ranking. What a huge accomplishment.
It looks like Kipper was in an even more amazing place years ago based on his recent race report and reflection on his past successes. No doubt the technology and enhancements over the years has made the playing field much more level and competitive.

My first memory of Bimmer was when I could not get my Qt to sync. He was quick to reach out and share his wisdom on how to get Java to sync with my NMEA connections, and got me up and running.
On the race course, I remember during the first Odyssey race he Barbequed and when he got back to his boat about 30 minutes later, he very cheerfully jumped back in. One of the others commented "Bummer Bimmer" and he cheerfully replied something like, "it happens!"
Finally most recently, we were in close competition in a race, and he missed the mark rounding by just a hair, and I sent him a message to make sure he knew as soon as possible. As has always been my experience with Bimmer, he was gracious and appreciative when he got back to his boat.
Always a gentleman, and someone that will truly be missed at SOL.
    Peace and light Finn. 😢

    Hi Kipper,
Any idea why I get this error for NOAA file? I have seen this for a while when I have NOAA checked and set for 16 days.

Thanks Bimmer: I have it all reloaded and it seems to be working again. I really appreciate your support with all this.

Haida Gwaii 2024

We will end the second quarter of the ARCH competition with a 390nm race around the Haida Gwaii islands (literally "Islands of the Haida people"), also known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. This is an archipelago located on the northern Pacific coast of Canada. In SOL, we last raced on this route in 2012 and few people remember what happened there. Prepare your Riptide 50 well, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Newport Bermuda Race 2024

The 636-mile biennial Newport Bermuda Race is one of the oldest regularly scheduled ocean races, and with the Fastnet Race and the Sydney to Hobart Race, it is one of the three great classic races of the yachting world. Founded in 1906, this 53rd running of the Bermuda Race can again also be participated in online.
Entries are invited for one of the four divisions:
Double-Handed Division:
Jeanneau Sun Fast 3600
St. David's Lighthouse Division:
Santa Cruz 52
Gibbs Hill Lighthouse Division:
Judel Vrolijk 62
Finisterre Division:
Riptide 50
Details for each yacht are available in the ‘Particulars’ links below. As in real life, you can only sail one boat in one division, so choose your virtual yacht carefully, and because of the unusual (for SOL) 4-division nature of the event, please note results will not count towards any Sailonline rankings.
