Page: Previous 1 2

Hi Folks!

I don't mind the name at all but because we have already done one circumcision this year can we spice this one up a little?

Along the lines of..

A Nations Cup - Best added times of say 3 national boats

A Team Challenge - let's go the whole boat babysit nine yards

Virtiual Prize for voted Best Named boat

A National Team Boat - Let's challenge ITA2011 with a USA2011, All Blacks2011, Aussie2011, Mapleleaf2011 etc etc

Let's make our race a tiny bit more interesting than the other unmentioned one!

Regards
George
I will fully suppot these sugestions!

Nations Cup - 3 or 5 best placed boats will keep the excitement way down the leaderboad!
Ahoi Sailors!

How about "South -> left -> left -> home" ?

:-D

Greetings from Alimos Marina, Athens, Greece

Roland

<<DO NOT USE FOR NAVIGATION>>
Hi racers,

I have done some preparations on this race and would like to finish off the name in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for your input so far, are there any other great suggestions we can use?

I will have a chat and see what we can do prizes for this one as well.

Vulva Oat Chin Race

can't wait,

BT
"SOL ECLIPSE 2011-2012"

(An extra edge in this is that SOL in swedish means SUN)

A team challenge with best 4 boats from each country each leg would be fun.

If SOL could contribute with small prizes as mentioned above, it would be great (membership to individual winner, maybe t-shirts or caps to best team), nothing fancy or expensive, just to spice it up a bit. :-)

Just in case you're not, how about "The SOL: World Race 2011/2012"
If you are, I second the motion.

The SailOnLine World Race
The SailOnLine Ocean Race
The SailOnLine Around The World Race

Either is fine by me...
I really like the suggested : The SOL World Race 2011/2012
Or the long version The Sailonline World race 2011/2012

Any more suggestions?
I will make final preparations for the race soon so in a few days we will call the name :-)

OK Sailonline World Race 2011-2012 it is.
Feel free to use the short Sol World Race.
I will make the final name change and will post some additonal info on the front page realy soon.

The Vineyard Race 2025

For the first time since first hosting a virtual Vineyard in cooperation with Long Island's Stamford Yacht Club back in 2010, due to an operational calendaring error, Sailonline has missed the start of the real life race, the USA’s Labor Day weekend this year unusually falling across the turn of August. Silly SOL! So, a week late please join us anyway for a virtual rerun of Stamford’s iconic annual overnighter from their club line out the sound to Buzzard's Bay Light near Martha's Vineyard Island and back again, leaving Block Island to starboard. This year, Sailonline is making its magic MC 38 available to competitors, a race boat with a quirky polar that will require you to stay wide awake as you speed around the c 250 nm course, in rockstar style!
