Thank you Rainbow Chaser for your invaluable collaboration.

Thank you 8mr Who - I shall now archive the race until we need it. :-)
OK...the Chi-Mac will be removed from the draft August calendar and this year SOL's Race to Mackinac will be from Huron on 23 July :-)

How's that?

8mr Who - The SOL Chi-Mac was in the August Calendar and the Huron-Mac has taken its place.

I mis-typed when I put "July" in my earlier post. There has been no race to Mackinac in SOL's July calendar this year.

Hopefully someone will help get us alongside the organisers for future races - although the failure of the tracking system and the loss of life in this year's Chi-Mac probably means SOL shouldn't make any attempt to contact the organisers until early in 2012.

There is no point in substituting the Port Huron-Mac for the Chi-Mac unless the purpose was to run the event in sync with the actual race.

We have run these events in the past without any tie-ins. They provide all the boat tracking regardless and I see no reason to alter our ability to virtually participate because of this. It certainly has seemed to overly complicate the matter this year.

8mr Who - you are probably right and I can only apologise that there was a misunderstanding.
