Je vois ... :D :D :D

Je crois qu'il vaut mieux en discuter sur le chat francais. Ce soir 20:00 UTC sur 'See Naples and then die ...', ca te va?

A+

Francois
Ok, j'y suis !
Incognito, I'm trying to understand and use your spreadsheet but am having trouble. First I copied that data from brainaid web site for the polars of the Beneteau Figaro boat race. That looked to be okay I had no errors.

But when I tried experimenting with it by plugging in data I was using in the race the results didn't correspond with what the race was showing. Did I do something incorrect?

Are there any instructions on the use of the spread sheet? I'm still learning on how to use VMG and VMC.

Thank you

crzycanuk,

There are no instructions. I build this spreadsheet for myself, and then made it available here following some requests.

I suggest to discuss it on the chat of Key Lime at 18:00 UTC.

Regards,

Francois

Google translated and it resolved the problem I was having. Thank you very much! Now to take advantage ha ha!
Hi Incognito,
I think i have sorted out the use of your spreadsheet. I have inserted the different polars from Brainaids site for various boats. It appears that the max speed for Orange, IMOCA 60 and others stops at 24 knots. I have put the same weather info for 3 boats and they all show 24 as the top speed. I have checked the data and it goes higher than that. WS 33 TWA-137 Course 30 TWD 267.

Cheers

I do not understand what you mean. For Orange for example, my spreadsheet indicates a top speed of 29.49 kts at 131° TWA with 30 kts of wind.

Here is the translation of Serge's post's,

Good evening.
I struggled a bit early to understand how the file Francis.
For adadter to another boat, you must replace the cell values of A10 D7250 Data tab.
Doing a "Right Click" on the PivotTable and click on "Refresh Data".

Sorry for our Anglo-Saxon friends, but I am unable to translate my words correctly in English.
