Hi Ahmet,
true windspeed in kts (TWS, horizontal axis) and true-wind-angle in degrees (TWA, vertical axis). The data shows the boatspeed in kts depending on TWA and TWS

however when you check the polar diagram for 90 ft mono-hull (given with the Hobart-Sydney race) with the polar table under "helpful links" they don't match. The diagram is in Knots hence I deduct that the table should be in some other units.

Numbers without units are meaningless for engineers:)

Rather meaningless for the rest of us to Ahmet :-)

Dont understand why you cant find units though. Every polar file I have seen has something like this as the first line:
"TWSm/s";"TWSkt";"TWA";"SPDkt"
And usually data for each integer value of TWS in m/s...
Cant see units being omitted especially if you got file from SOL or brainaid...

As I understand it: if the maximum wind speed shown in the polar file is less than 20, then the wind speed is in m/s. If the maximum wind speed is equal or greater than 20, then the wind speed is in knots.
