SYC Members - Boatname Change

SOLer ArtPainter has come up with a brilliant idea... for those of us who are SYC Members, why not change the name of your wessel to something a little more festive/seasonal. Just for this race.

As many of you know, we do this for our Carib Rum Run race in September - by changing your boatname for one race, you don't in any way alter your login credentials AND of course your SYC Ranking is unaffected.

You may join the SYC at any time during the race to take advantage of this festive name-change!!

All requests for such changes will be made on a first-come, first-served basis and must be posted in this thread to avoid confusion!

PLEASE DO CHECK THE LIST below before submitting a request to ensure that you aren't requesting a name already taken by someone else before you!

You are, of course, pretty much free to choose any name you like but we do reserve the right to refuse offensive or inappropriate names, if chosen, and if a name is pre-existing in the database it will also be unavailable.

All changes will be made as soon as they are listed here and as soon after you are registered in the race as possible - feel free to give me a shout out in race chat if I haven't spotted your request, though!

Valletta Sprint 2025


We invite you once again to this SOL classic around the Middle Sea, departing from and returning to historic Valletta. Loseley modelled on an IRL classic often sponsored by a luxury wristwatch purveyor, our c 600nm course takes us north as far as Stromboli, then west of Sicily and south to Lampedusa and back to Valletta probably via the strait between Malta and Gozo. This year we will race it all in very Meddy Dufour 40’s!

Chatham Island TIMED Chase 2025

The final TIMED race of 2025 takes us to the isolated and mysterious Chatham Islands archipelago 430 nm east of New Zealand’s South Island. There promises to be plenty of breeze from every point on the compass as we sail the Farr 38 around Chatham Island, Pitt Island, and The Forty Fours on this 124 nm course. This is a TIMEDrace so you may RE-REGISTER HEREto try again after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.
