    Thanks lj.

If I got it right the model is only available at is entirety about 4 hours after the stated hour.

    Lesson learned.

    Cheers

Out of curiosity how does weather Gribs used in SoL differ from the ones issued by NOAA?

NOAA gribs are published at 00, 06, 12 and 18 UTC, almost 4h before the SOL ones.

Does SOL just start each Grib approximately on the 4th hour of NOAAs original one? Or the gribs are offset by 4 h (ie 04utc SOL = 00utc NOAA)?

    Are there other adjustments?

Thanks Kipper, and sorry for the delay in replying. Attached the shell log, for the AGL_4_0_2. All I get is a gray flat screen when open the graphic interface. Turned openGL engine on an off but nothing changes.

On a separate question, what is the font you use on the AGL3_2_2? I may have to install it as my machine is showing a hard to read one (see picture attached).

    Thanks much

    1. seeU, an exception is being thrown by the low level openGL binding that I use, and I have no idea why. Can you please copy the feedback from the shell, drop it into a file and post here. Secondly, try turning off the openGL engine (on the Parameters tab) and see if you get a different result.

I tried Version 4.0.0 on the Mac. It works well other than the Graphic interface that on the new version, always come gray.

Going back to 3.2.3 that at least give me the graphics once in a while.

    Kipper
Thanks for coming back to me on this.

    To your questions:
    1)I am running a 64-bit Java (Version 8-241)
2)I am opening the AGL with the Terminal. Attached the command screen after AGL opens and clicking Apply

Lastly, I am also attaching a print of the screen I get when opening the DC Checker graphical interface. Just flat out gray!

BTW, your software is awesome. The more I get used to it the more I like it.

    Thanks

I am having a consistent malfunction when opening the Graphic Interface in the DC Checker.

There is an inconsistent behavior, with the Graphic working when you first start AGL but subsequently only showing a blank screen. For example, if you load the DCs to the server e check them for the first time, you can see them in Graphic form. However, if you change any DCs on the server and refresh the AGL, the odds of having a new graphic interpretation are 40/60.

Any advise or help will be welcome. To avoid confusion, I am running AGL_3_2_3 on a macOS Catalina with JarRsrcLoader.

    Thanks much

    @Calm
Thank you very much. But the version of AGL I have is the 3-2-3 available on the OneDrive. This is the only one I have ever installed as I am new to this.

Anyhow, doing further research I found out that my Computer is running Intel Gen 3 and does not properly handle OpenGL. This may be the reason I am not getting the full graphics experience.

I moved to a macOS computer and it is working ALMOST fine. It works with all functionalities but, after a while, the DC checker map comes only as an empty gray screen. I have to close and open the AGL again and... voila, it is working fine again. Not sure what is causing this bug but at lesat I have a fully functional AGL now.

    Thanks again for your feedback

    Fair winds and following seas.

    Hello Kipper

I am new here and still in the learning curve of the tools. Thanks for making and keeping the DC Checker.

I installed the AGL version 3.2.3 in my Windows computer but apparently I cant get any AIS information and also get an incomplete Map when converting the DCs into a graphical path.

Do you have any clue why that could be happening?

Attached two screes shots: 1) the Parameters I have set up and 2) the Path in graphic format.

    Thanks much.

Beketov by Balloon 2026 - In Siberia

Way-back-when France and England, and Spain as well, were squabbling about who should control what of North America, only to lose the most of it to their own insurging colonists, their eastern European neighbour empire, Russia, was quietly assimilating vast, thinly nomadically populated territory of its own – Siberia! Amongst the many explorers and adventurers that served Russia so well in these conquests was the Cossack hetman Pyotr Beketov. Let’s pretend we’re he and eschewing horseback, let’s travel by balloon from Yekaterinberg to Krasnoyarsk – just a short 2000km (1100nm) section of the Trans-Siberian Express’ 9289km!

West Papua to Oregon 2026

Our next race in our Ocean Championships is the first of a series of great natural migrations we will track in 2026. The leatherback turtle is the most widely distributed marine reptile on planet Earth, and chooses to breed in warm tropical waters, but prefers to forage in more temperate habitats, travelling thousands and thousands of miles effortlessly annually to maintain this way of life. Our race will follow one of the typical trips of this turtle, from breeding grounds in the seas off West Papua to the coast of Oregon. It’s only 5900nm, so to keep up, but in comfort, we’ll follow in our Gunboat 90.
