To improve the development process for the sailonline client application, it would be good to know a few things about the systems people use to run SOL on. There are just a few categories of specifications we are inteerested in, so please fill it out and we can hopefully develop the client to better run on the higher end systems, while still being ok on the lower end ones. ************************************** ************************************ To make life easier for all, I found a small free benchmark program that is available for both PC and Mac. Called NovaBench it will reduce things to a few key numbers, and you can simply cut and paste the system specs from the report page. It is approx 11Mb download and tests take about 1-2 minutes. Please Post what you see on result page (you can just select all text, including overall result, and copy & paste - HDD info not necessary). [This also allows better comparison between Win & Mac machines] ************************************ ************************************** Please also indicate, whether your machine is a desktop or laptop, screen resolution and size, and a rough age in years (or < 1) Also your Internet download speed: Use the http://speedtest.net service for 'real-world' results, as often you are not achieving what your ISP claims as their connection speed. Kapiti Chetwodes Race 2024

For only the second time in SOL history, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the Kapiti Chetwodes Race, held in the Cook Strait region. Organised IRL by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club from Wellington in New Zealand. The approximately 160nm long route, full of turning points, will take us from the bay at RPNYC around the islands of Somes, Kapiti and Chetwodes and back to the finish line at RPNYC. We have only a 26 ft Albin 79 yacht at our disposal. All this means that we will have a lot of fun, so fair winds!

Two Oceans Doublecross TIMED Race 2024

Our November Timed race takes us to Cape Town near where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Our ride is a beautiful ketch, the Archer 78. Starting at Cape Town, we’ll round Robben Island, then head south to round Cape Point, up around Seal Island before heading north to round Dassen Island before returning to Cape Town.
