	Some time ago spackel proposed that SOL races the Bohusracet. The request was sitting on the shelf, but I am pleased to say the race is now set up and needs to be previewed to make sure that waypoints are in the right place(s) and that the course rhumbline makes sense! Please feel free to check the race out as the sol boat: Username: sol Password: sol And then click here. Please post any comments/changes here! Thanks spackel - this is great timing as we can probably fit this race in among the Tall Ships as they pass by from Stavanger to Halmstad!! Will make a fun contrast!! 	One more point, they have actually shortened the race to finish in Smögen this year. Perhaps we could change the course to be like in the attached pic. /spackel Attachments Capture.GIF (24.6 KB)

	Hi spackel - course changed.. how does it now look to you? You said The two marks in the water (Ulholmens kalv and Mjölkskärsfyr) are supposed to be passed on the inside, e.g. mark on starbord. - the first on is a "pass on inside" but I have removed the second so that folks then have the choice of going inside or not. Due to the way the SOL rhumline works to force an inside there would require several other waypoints which would look untidy I think. --- Last Edited by RainbowChaser at 2011-07-02 15:00:30 ---

	AHOY SOLers this race was due to run this weekend but as we will (probably) still be running our Square Riggers down to Halmstad, something tells me that sailing J80s at the same time in the same waters might not be that much fun! Welcome to the third of three virtual Tall Ships Races on the Baltic Sea which are concurrently being organized in-real-life by Sail Training International . This third race is from Mariehamn, Finland to Szczecin, Poland; circa 250nm in Sailonline’s stately fanciful Full Rigger.
NOTE: Starts and Finishes in tall ships racing are always offshore to avoid conflict with shipping and shipping lanes.

Kamchatsky to Tromsoe 2024

Just before the light failed entirely in Antarctica, Skip Novak managed to get his Pelagic 77 out of the ice and north up the Pacific to Kamchatsky. The sun is shining (24/7) and not a penguin to be seen, and Skip believes the Norh East Passage is ice-free (sufficiently) to attempt it, so all aboard for a c 4250nm voyage from east to west across the top of Siberia, Russia and Norway to Tromsoe!

Cowes to St Malo TIMED Race 2024

Southampton to Punta del Este 2024

Sailonline is delighted to offer our sailors a 'reversed' Atlantic ocean race. As the RTW championship Atlantic part takes a detour to the Bahamas, we will offer you a reversed course as we will not do the 'usual' leg this year either.
