None of those errors should be of importance. Or so I've been thinking, but I'll have a go at eliminating them in beta 7 and see if it helps.
Kalle, et all this is the same problem that I had. The clue for me was when you told me that you were working in Open GL. I solved it by going to Display properties-->settings-->advanced-->(your graphics card) in my case ATI-->Open GL. In the open GL settings I turned off the default settings and then adjusted Anti-Aliasing and Arisotropic Filtering. The key is to turn off "Application Preference" in both. I set Texture Preference, Mipmap Detail Level, Wait for Vertical Sync all to max on scale.
Works fine now. It even reduces the flashing when I drag the screen.
Hope this helps.
captjack1942,

Thanks that fixed my problem, open GL was all set to default values. I changed them then PRESTO, wind arrows, Boats, Iso Lines.

Thanks

Waow, this is why I love our wonderful community! Thanks captain for the info - very valuable for the future!

I'll also check if I can do some changes in the code to be more specific when I request an opengl context.

Thanks!
Just for the record, it's also important to ascertain that your screen resolution is lower than that indicated by the "max screen resolution" in the open GL tab in display properties. The max screen resolution seems to vary with the antialiasing settings. So either change screen resoltuion or the anti aliasing setting.
I am having trouble with both the old client and the new one. The new one is permanently "waiting for weather data" and shows no boats, chat, or map. I am in Cape Town at the moment, and don't know if it is this African Server, or a different problem.

The old client says "Internal server error" sometimes, and other times gives the map, but with no boat or weather data.

Anybody having the same trouble?

+++++

Make sure you have the "www." prefix before the sailonline.org/

This solved it for me. Before that, I would open another IE browser tab and put the www.etc in and the new tab downloaded, but the original tab was still waiting.

I believe Kalle has fixed this.

Better still is to log onto the web site then click "Enter race now!" from righthand column. This works every time for me now.

If it breaks, it's not strong enough!
Thanks... I'm doing that already actally. I am beginning to suspect the local server isn't all it could be.
Solved itself...
Thank you for the update, do you know what solved it?

Red Eye - Melville Island PYOC 2026

Melville Island is the largest of the Tivi group opposite the port of Darwin in the Timor Sea. Tropically forested and thinly populated, not a lot goes on there, but let’s race around it anyway, lar- or starboard round, it’s a little more than 120nm, so, no matter where you are navigating from on the planet, you will be hard-pressed to complete the course aboard your J-80 in daylight hours!

The third race of our series of ocean voyages across the World’s convergence zones takes us southeastward now down the Pacific, from Guam’s Apra Harbour at 13.5 degrees North, back across the Equator to the glorious New Caledonian resort island of Ouvéa, on the edge of the Tropic of Capricorn at 20.5 degrees South. It’s 2400nm, and there’s more than a few other islands in the way, so mind where you go in your Ocean 50s. Race #1981

Iceland to the Falklands 2026

Welcome to an all-new route, the first of three Round the 'Old World' of Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia. To give each leg of the ROW a bit of length we'll try to hug the coasts as little as possible, so starting in Iceland our first leg of the series, which will also be the final leg of our Quarter 1 Ocean Championships takes us 7200nm to the Falklands, the full length of the Atlantic end to end. To make sure we'll get it done within the month we'll be sailing our Maxi Trimaran.
