Normaly a reload works, if not try clearing the cache of the browser so no offline date is left, forcing a reload that way.

Other problems come from proxy's and corporate networks.
They tend to pre load a lot of info and this in turn can upset the weather file refresh.

Trying several browsers is a good call as well but in this case you have done this.
I am a ex-admin of SOL who joins in from time to time.
SOL have a problem with some ISP's in South Africa. The problem is that they implement caching (to save bandwidth) by placing their customers behind load balanced proxy servers. This in turn causes problems with our current authentication. It could be fixed but there's no quick fix...

Using a proxy server in europe or usa would help but that is not easy to set up either.
Thank's so much for your interest guys
I am out of ideas - but strangely, my 3G card loads, but very slowly (different ISP),
however this is expensive. The ISP denies there is anything wrong, of course. At the office again a different ISP, the game loads perfectly. Seems I will have to change ISP?

Regards
Ray
It is actually *partly* my fault since I didn't properly anticipate this problem when designing the authentication process. Try asking your ISP if you can direct access to websites without going through their proxy (answer is probably no).
Thanks Kalle, the ISP is Telkom, the national telephone company - will try
Thanks
OK, just got off the line with senior person @ Telkom - she could not load game page either!! directly from the main frame - will call in the boffins on Monday
Just to keep you guys informed (will not accept that I can load with a 3G card)

Regards

Ray
Report back - after 1hr37min on the telephone, got an advisor that gave me "secret" LAN settings, bypassing the proxy server as you said Kalie! for any other South African sailors - it's worth it!
Now have no excuses for not being up with the leaders

Regards

Ray
Sebensa - well done for persisting!!

:-)
Thanks - a bit of a mission to say the least

The Vineyard Race 2025

For the first time since first hosting a virtual Vineyard in cooperation with Long Island's Stamford Yacht Club back in 2010, due to an operational calendaring error, Sailonline has missed the start of the real life race, the USA’s Labor Day weekend this year unusually falling across the turn of August. Silly SOL! So, a week late please join us anyway for a virtual rerun of Stamford’s iconic annual overnighter from their club line out the sound to Buzzard's Bay Light near Martha's Vineyard Island and back again, leaving Block Island to starboard. This year, Sailonline is making its magic MC 38 available to competitors, a race boat with a quirky polar that will require you to stay wide awake as you speed around the c 250 nm course, in rockstar style!
