Why is there no map for leg 4 in Sailplanner? SP Phillipines is not complete in the nothern part.

So far during practise I've used the map for the Phillipines. I've haven't yet checked if there are maps for the East China and Yellow seas.

I decided to give Sailplanner a first try furing this practise and I found it kinda fun. Aren't the coordinate systems in Sailplanner and the client the same, DMS DD respectively?

coordinate system is the same. Sailplanner accepts almost any format of input, you can use dd.ddd or dd'mm etc as you like :-)

Jakob, I just downloaded Sailplanner. It shows my boat but it's not anywhere near the position I'm in Sailonlin.org. Will it work at the start of leg 4 or what? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I'm no expert, but you can drag your boat manually anywhere. While the orientation of the boat doesn't change, the boats polar butterfly changes according to the wind. Set a couple of points with the blue button and then hit the green one to get a route calculation. Points can be moved later for recalculation.

Clarification: There is no built-in coupling between SOL and Sailplanner.

Cross the Convergence 2026 - Guam to Ouvéa


The third race of our series of ocean voyages across the World’s convergence zones takes us southeastward now down the Pacific, from Guam’s Apra Harbour at 13.5 degrees North, back across the Equator to the glorious New Caledonian resort island of Ouvéa, on the edge of the Tropic of Capricorn at 20.5 degrees South.
