    thanks Jack it is good to know this.. I was not aware of it..
  • cape town to buenos aires

    I am just trying to understand!;
    275 miles to go to buenos aires, I used measuring toll on the screen from my boat to finish, cc was 282 and when cursor on finish line showed me on top right cc 283 which is normal due to the world's shape... so I fix my course to cc 282 and left the boat to sail to the finish.

    this morning I just wondered my finishing position and I found my boat nearly 20 miles south of the finish line on the rock!

    I check my track if I made a mistake with my commands but did not see any mistake still gives the same figures so why this happened?

    now the question is; which compass course we can rely on ? and what was the problem?

    regards

    what I was suprised Trombones was I left on CC so only problem could be wind dropped which was not enough wind for me to reach the mark before my dc! but did nt look like that.. the only problem I can see is my cc was to tight to the mark! so program might shifted my boat to starboat? ı dont know this is possible..

    what do you usually do ? when you set dc do you leave the boat in cc ? what is your time buffer?

    thnx in advance goblin
  • delayed command
    Board » Technical Support
    to avoid having trouble with my DC's ı usually give 10-15 min buffer.. however yesterday in auckland race I set DC for 2 hours time with 15 min buffer to tack but again I missed the mark!if it was a dc long time ahead I would think it is whether change but just a 2 hours ahead and my tack point was very cleary after mark!

    is there any useful hints somebody can help me?

    if I follow the link to propose an race an empty pages open! I guess I make mistake somewhere but I dont know where! any body can help?
  • chat suggestion
    Board » General Discussion
    I suggest to have the chat order new one at the bottom rather than at top.. since the single message is limited to number of letter remaining part comes comes at top which s unusual. I think this way it will be easier to follow..

    also it will be nice to have individual chat with boats. eg. just click the name on the boat tab and have a chat window .. I am sure naking it is not that easy as I wrote here:)
