    Hi sailors!

To clarify the situation created, in the Round Gotland Race 2011, by my decision to put the boat at twa:0, was only to avoid controversy about boatsitting. Not to create it!
About boatsitting apart from the rule and whether it is more or less ambiguous, I have my own rules.
My opinion, is that we are competing in SOL and I do not want to compete, taking advantage over others.
From my point of view outside the rule of SOL is to be on the race course with two ships at a time is playing with an advantage over others.
I understand that is very different, come on time in the ship a partner that has collided on the coast, for example, or perform any duty, representing a percentage of time boatsitting very small compared to the total duration of the race . To the contrary make a high percentage of the race. The competitive advantages that represent either case are obvious.
As I said earlier, the reason for my decision, has been to avoid controversy, since in this particular case the percentage was of virtually the entire race.
In short just fairplay to the whole SOL community! I love SOL and all the nice friends I've made here!

I want to especially thanks to WINSTON, for his interest in clarify this situation. Thanks a lot my friend, you're a gentleman on and off the water!

Well mates see you soon in the virtual sea! ;)

    Hi sailors!

I'm not a professional on forecast stuff, so before read all your comments, I thought that a 4 forecasts update could help to do a smothly transition between forecasts and keep the game more realistic.

After read all what you explain, really I dont't know... :P

But I think that we IRL sailings, we can get the every six hours forecast updates, and follow or change our strategy from what we analyze on them and what we get on the boat.
So I'm still thinking that a 4 forecasts updates could help to do a smoth transitions and not only transitions about the weather also about our tactics changes.

And I'm not agree on manipulate the forecast, do that I think distorting completly the reality.

I hope someday can understand properly what are you talking about... :)

    Nice winds! ;)

    Hello sailors!

This is a SOS call for SOL administrators!

Because of the serious pathology, very common and widespread, between everybody SOL virtual sailors, the "sailoholics", myself as suffering from this illness, I do this SOS call to the Administrators of SOL for which with urgent character they administer us our medicine, loading a new race!

Please it is only for health questions!

    Best regards!

    Hi sailors!

Just congratulate the creators of this amazing simulator!

Thank's a lot for this nice place where improve our sailing skills in a really excellent athmosphere!

Well in the other hand, I think that in the set of navigations tools could be useful a compass, that it shows the marks of the Course, TWD and the TWA.

Kind regards to all the sailonline.org community and good prow! ;)

Haugesund to Reykjavik 2025

In late April 2016 Draken Harald Hårfagre, the worlds largest viking ship built in modern times, left her home port in Haugesund, Norway and sailed off for a challenging voyage across the North Atlantic Ocean.
The aim was to explore and relive one of the most mythological sea voyages – the first transatlantic crossing, and the Viking discovery of the New World, more than a thousand years ago. History tells us about the Viking explorer, Leif Eriksson, who discovered America over 500 years before Christopher Columbus. The expedition was all about exploring the world, just like the Vikings did.
Sailonline is racing the 1000 nm first leg, from Haugesund, Norway, to Reykjavik, Iceland in our Farr 400. Let us sail in the wake of history on this epic adventure!
