Board » General Discussion » With draw from race - how?

I went into the Tall ship race to check the course - and that put my boat on the starting line. Guess I should have logged out and gone in as guest. How can I now withdraw my boart from the race?

(I guess this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer.)
... and since I had meanwhile logged in as guest to see if my boat was actually at the starting line - which it is - my post above carries the name Eagle Alpha - nice, but I have no idea why. Must be the generic name for guests?

Anyway, I am the one who asked the question below - how to take my boat out of a race. I am sure I'll learn the answer soon enough. - Great place this!
You can't take your boat out of the race. Just don't set a course and it will stay on the start line. It wont be doing any harm there. :-)
Agger...

As yet, there is no way to "withdraw" from a race once registered. Your options are:

1)Ignore the race
2) Sail around merrily investigating the area whilst enjoying a cool beverage on the foredeck
3) Go TWA=0 and use #1 above
4) Find a like-minded SOLer near your boat and have your own match-race to anywhere.

Since you can be registered in more than one race simultaneously, it doesn't matter if you do or do not "retire" from a specific competition. Your rank (if you are an SYC member) will be whatever your position was at the time the race was closed. The closing date/time will be posted on the homepage.

Hope this helps.
Keep SOLing!!

Thanks you two. Will let her sit on the starting line.
I only found SOL last week when looking for stuff on navigation - getting a boating license. So I joined the race about a day late. And didn't know what I was getting into. It was a thrill! Now I need some sleep - but you'll see me in a race soon. Joined the club immediately - what a great site!
Bienvenido a Sol . Es un sitio con gente encantadora
