With such a tight race as this one, where first 30-40 boats were in 0.2 nm it is obviously not permissible to validate this race, with the problems we encountered prior to arrival.
Many of
those who jumped in front on leaderboard would probably not agree.
This race should be annulled and raced once more.

Hi africa - the SYC rankings for this race have been disabled and this will be reflected in the server overnight tonight (Friday).

As for running the race again, we can always consider including it in the race calendar in future (before the real race is run next year) :-)
I had to tack back also, if you cancel the race It's even more unfair than the server issue Itself.
ATLET I am sorry for you and GNT, as most probable you would have held yr positions anyhow
hmmm..... not wanting to seem like a winer but before the glitch I tacked toward the finish while already in 3rd right with atlet & gnt and actually finished 3rd therefore would rightfully claim the 3rd podium position ;)

I think what really disturbs me is that the last time I finished in the top 3 that race was decided not to count also :(

cheers, Rico
Rico
hey RICO,I am sorry for you too and especially now that I know in last your podium the race did not count too.

I have seen many tracks, in that last tack towards arrival line, with many very small zig zags including yours.Tell me what did you do than than? I suppose nothing as the zig zags are all equal. I was continuously tacking for 150 deg.In last 4 zig zags the boat stopped to the wind far away from arrival line.

You must admit the race was not regular. Some boats are damaged more than others and that's the luck.
The next timed race is decided not to count too where I am on podium, but I must admit those starting earlier had advantage of stronger wind and that is not fair.

Chinook Salmon - Canada to Andreanovs

A year after spawning in the upper reaches of the rivers of British Columbia, Chinook Salmon develop the age-old urge, so familiar to SOLers, to go to sea, heading for different parts of the northern Pacific Ocean. This race catches up with a particular school with an instinctive memory for the Andreanov Islands far west on the Aleutian Islands chain, as they depart the Salian Sea between Vancouver Island and the San Juans. It’s 2200nm and we’re taking the 60ft Trimaran, in the hope we can keep up!
