Board » Flag Officers » Races » Let's get out of this country April 29th

I (JuJu) have proposed this race so that SOLers can race against us as we sail my friend Simon Jonson's Dufour 40 from Chichester Harbour to Corunna, breaking at L'aber Wrach in Brittany.

Pictures of Zeno here

We will be using my Spot tracker hopefully to put Zeno's position on the SOL race

Tracker

there are only 2 of us, so we will probably sail fairly cautiously (e.g. reef down a bit at night). We'd love to hear SOLers strategies for us before we go, we have a thuraya satphone on board but it only does voice/text messages.

we Simon and I enjoyed our part in the races. you can see some pictures here.

and the track here.

I hope you did not mind us going into cruising mode -- the real wind was too light when we left the Isle of Wight behind, so we motored. We also thought we had a weather window and rushed to get out of L'aber Wrac'h (including shooing a douanier away) on the right tide for Chanel du Four to try to get in a weather window that closed on us.

My SPOT tracker is available for anyone else to borrow who wants to do a similar real life race (in Europe).

The link for spot adventure didn't work for me. I did go to "home" on Spot Adven. and found the track by going through "Find Adventure" > "Sailing" (under Water)> then "sort by date". Your trip was the 6th one down.

The URL I had on the page with your track is: http://www.spotadventures.com/trip/view?trip_id=252616

The URL probably changes with different IPs.
Correct Jack, I finally managed to work out how to get the full track there and deleted the old ones
