	CKH - haven't got a race date.. it might be as soon as March, though, as its good for the race calendar to have a race in each of SOL's main timezones each month That's the intention anyway! You also need to select a suitable starting time.. the sort-of rule being trialled at the moment is: Mon-Fri - the utc equiv of local 1800hrs Sat-Sun - the utc equiv of lcoal 1000hrs BUT race designers can pick the start-time for their races!! --- Last Edited by RainbowChaser at 2011-01-29 12:50:55 ---

	RC here is the name and description: SJORA Florida Current Race 2011 Ahhhh warm sunny ocean race! Strip of the foul weather gear and sail in your shorts! Don't forget the sunscreen and rum! Don't fall over board! as you sail through the Eden of Sharks! A 222.2nm three legged race: Leave Port of Palm Beach Florida in a j30, crossing the Florida Current to Freeport Bahamas. Crossing the Florida Current again to Port of Miami Florida. A quick sprint up the SouthEast Coast of Florida, finishing where you started in Port of Palm Beach Florida. Stay awake for this one! 	Race 1 of the SJORA Series is now in the draft calendar to start at 1100utc on Tuesday, 19 April 2011. Hope this works for you!

The Beagle in Mauritius 2024

And west, forever following the sun, the Beagle went once more to next explore Australia, but since online we already regularly race the length and breadth of that wee dinkum continent’s coasts, we will delay launching our Tall Ship Class B until the Beagle reaches Mauritius, which she did on 29 April 1836. Darwin explored the island and its coral reefs extensively. We’ll better that by sailing some 450nm to Reunion and back, for a better appreciation of this remote archipelago, inhabited mostly by descendants of French and English colonists and Indian convicts and political prisoners.

Kapiti Chetwodes Race 2024

For only the second time in SOL history, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the Kapiti Chetwodes Race, held in the Cook Strait region. Organised IRL by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club from Wellington in New Zealand. The approximately 160nm long route, full of turning points, will take us from the bay at RPNYC around the islands of Somes, Kapiti and Chetwodes and back to the finish line at RPNYC. We have only a 26 ft Albin 79 yacht at our disposal. All this means that we will have a lot of fun, so fair winds!

Two Oceans Doublecross TIMED Race 2024

Our November Timed race takes us to Cape Town near where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Our ride is a beautiful ketch, the Archer 78. Starting at Cape Town, we’ll round Robben Island, then head south to round Cape Point, up around Seal Island before heading north to round Dassen Island before returning to Cape Town. This is a TIMED race, so you may RE-REGISTER HERE to try again, after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.
