Vous avez dites "I would add a variation to my path: the possibility of move north and south of Ré island (between WP4 and WP5), with
the requirement to pass the door 5. "

---------------
You said "I would add a variation to my path: the possibility of move north and south of Ré island (between WP4 and WP5), with
the requirement to pass the door 5. "

I am not sure what you mean to do with Ile de Re. Right now, it is possible to sail to the left or the right of the island (because there is no waypoint on it).

Is this your plan?

Timed races use up a lot of server capacity but, sure,if possible we will run this as a timed race.

An end of august date is best - Saturday, 27 August - what time would you like the race to start?
Yes, it's necessary for ships to pass on the right or on the left of Ré island. and if I understand your message, it is.
Regarding the date of the race, and after consulting my friends virtual browsers, the best date would be at the end of September, leaving a Friday at 19:00 GMT.
You have not answered regarding the poster presentation. Do you think I created one and in what file format?
Thank you

----------------------------

OK - the course is confirmed!

The date - your preference for the end of September is fine - Friday 24 September at 1900utc is doable!

As for a "poster"? If you could come with a small description, like those on the RH side of this screen (for VicMaui, Gotland and Ouzo) that would be great!

Is this race your idea? not a course in reality?
OK for Friday, September 24 at 19h UTC
I write a little description as you ask me.
This race is a race that I imagined, it does not exist in the reality.
I have tested this race by enrolling in a race on the website "Virtual loup de mer"
and diverting the ship to take this test ...
Is it possible for me to test this race in the coming days to see if it is nteresting with this boat, or whether to put another boat?
In any case, thank you for your kindness and your responsiveness to my posts

-----------------------

When races are created and become visible in SOL, and the boat "sol" (password:sol) is registered then it is possible for anyone to log in and practice.

I can, however, put a message on the SOL homepage saying "sol boat is race-testing, please do not log in", but that is all that is possible at the moment.

Your choice of a trimaran is excellent!
Belle course Do!.
Tu prépares notre deuxième challenge des teams ?
A bientôt
MJedi

Do! good race.
You are preparing our second challenge for the teams?

The message of submission of the race:

Atlant'îles Challenge!
You've dreamed of visiting all the islands of the Atlantic seaboard of
France on a 60-foot trimaran?
Then, on September 24 at 19:00 UTC, are all on board your boat at
departure of Royan and towards Brest, visiting the islands is between 360nm
begin!! Good luck to all and prepare the coffee, it will go very
quickly and allow some breathing space for sleeping !!!!!

--------------------------------

Good morning Do - thank you for the race descrption. I am now in the process of setting this race up in SOL.

Just one question .. about it being a timed race.

Right now it is not possible to practice before a timed race - when it is open it begins immediately.

I believe that the absence of practice time would be a pity because there is always a lot of pleasure derived from exploring a new course.

The race can always be run again in the future - once setup it becomes part of the SOL archive.
Hello RC!
Do not worry, it does not matter that the race is not
timed run in the first place!
We shall see later if there is a possibility!
I am very pleased that this race is scheduled Sept. 24 and
So I look forward to the start ...
And if it is possible to test very soon, I expect thy
news. Good day!
Bonjour Do!

----------------------

Hi Do

Your race is now visible on the SOL homepage, and thus you can now go in and look at it using the boatname sol (password: sol).

I hope all is in order, but if you have any changes to make, just post them here!

:-)

Transat à Deux 2025

Above you see a single-handed sailor semi-foiling his Beneteau Figaro III to the horizon. It is in fact Ireland’s Sailor of the Year and the overall winner of last year’s Solitaire du Figaro, Tom Dolan. Somehow, we got our hands on a polar for the Class, and rather than trying to surreptitiously track Tom and his mates in the 2025 edition of the Solitaire, sailing rather-short, single-handed legs across the Celtic Sea and Biscay, we thought we’d see how our virtual craft would fare on the Class’s double-handed 3900nm Trans-Atlantic, from somewhere in Brittanny to somewhere in the Caribbean via somewhere in the Canaries. Allez, mes braves!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Toamasina to Baia de l'Oiseau

You may recall that when last we visited Madagascar in the company of Sinbad, the Sultan commanded our intrepid inspirator to seek out fabled islands where in Summer the sun barely set. We did and we returned but the Sultan wasn’t happy with Sinbad’s report, so here we go again, now by SOL Balloon instead of sailing vessel. Expect to be in the air for at least 2100nm and depending on how the wind brings us, anything between two weeks and two months before we shall descend at the Sultan’s given coordinates!

Melbourne Osaka Cup Double-Handed Yacht Race 2025

Welcome once again to what these days is Sailonline’s almost annual virtual Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. In real life, this double-handed 5500 nm race between these two sister cities, one deep in the southern hemisphere, the other high in the northern hemisphere, is run every four to five years, and this year is such a year. So, this year’s online version is in sync with the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2025 organised by the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV), and the Sandringham (SYC) and Osaka Hokko (OHYC) yacht clubs. We’ll be racing the well-known First 40, a popular size of boat which should be a good match for many of the boats entered in the real race. With the doldrums unavoidably lying across our course, you can expect to be at virtual sea for at least a month!
