	Hey Andrew - I posted an example for you in the yahoo group in the file section, "tool" folder. Back to the topic: I don't much like timed race either, but others do, and the RC is trying to respond to the userbase. This is only the second timed race we've had recently, it's a 6-12 hour race, and the intention was to have it open for only 6-7 days, during which time a longer Ocean race will also be taking place, with a sprint on the weekend. I think I must have underestimated people's attachment to the rankings when I suggested three boats. The idea wasn't to pad the stats for the routers - it was to let people have fun in the fast boats over a short course during the holidays. As for the race, and "fairness", it would have become quite clear in the first dozen hours of the race window that one boat is favoured over the others. If you want to win, pick that one and run the race like normal. If you want to take one of the other two and have fun passing people upwind or blowing by them on reaches that's fine too. Lots of boats would be happy to be the fastest of the slower fleet, even if they aren't ranked in the very top. We can't address the issues of routing/non-routing self declaration, "Divisions" or some of the other suggested ideas without trying new things. 76T

	I've been looking for a link to the polars of the three boats, but can't seem to find one anywhere. Someone said it's under "Helpful Hints" but I can't find that one either!

Kapiti Chetwodes Race 2024

For only the second time in SOL history, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the Kapiti Chetwodes Race, held in the Cook Strait region. Organised IRL by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club from Wellington in New Zealand. The approximately 160nm long route, full of turning points, will take us from the bay at RPNYC around the islands of Somes, Kapiti and Chetwodes and back to the finish line at RPNYC. We have only a 26 ft Albin 79 yacht at our disposal. All this means that we will have a lot of fun, so fair winds!

Two Oceans Doublecross TIMED Race 2024

Our November Timed race takes us to Cape Town near where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Our ride is a beautiful ketch, the Archer 78. Starting at Cape Town, we’ll round Robben Island, then head south to round Cape Point, up around Seal Island before heading north to round Dassen Island before returning to Cape Town. This is a TIMED race, so you may RE-REGISTER HERE to try again, after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.
