Board » General Discussion » BOAT TYPES & DETAILS

Can there be a section / page with details of the boats we are racing.

Ideally a pretty picture(s) but with good profile and layout drawings, dimensions, designer, builders, racing history summary.

Perhaps "good" features and those where developement and design have continued on from.

Links to more detailed sites would be better than editing down details & easier for all.

Perhaps one page per boat?
If it breaks, it's not strong enough!
I agree with paul. Nice idea.

Nice idea. Considering the work load I can only come up with polars for the boats and if users have additional info about the boats it would be nice to link in some way, yes.
...one of the guys behind the game...
Good idea, starting with the x-332 from thy Cyclades volcano r run.
It's not any longer in production but you can see a used one here:

Perfect.

Now just put a photo with that link or ask that website if you can copy thie page. They may even email the original to you.

Ask other bi-lingual sailors to translate for you. email the original text in WORD.DOC or PDF format; make another page in the "new" language and paste the translation.

Give credit (and blame?) to the SOL translating sailor.

PS. Confusious said that "pictures speak a thousand words" and don't need translation more than 100 years or 1,000+ years ago!
If it breaks, it's not strong enough!
Jacob perhaps all you need now is to add the SOL Polar chart and perhaps Brainaid's 3D polar diagrams.

So X-332 is all sorted.
If it breaks, it's not strong enough!
The Volvo site should have some pretty promotional photos for their 70 footers.

Having an incorrect polar, or not exactly correct polar does NOT matter that much. Just add a comment e.g. For SOL use only.

Now "Next boat" please.

Thanks

The Vineyard Race 2025

For the first time since first hosting a virtual Vineyard in cooperation with Long Island's Stamford Yacht Club back in 2010, due to an operational calendaring error, Sailonline has missed the start of the real life race, the USA’s Labor Day weekend this year unusually falling across the turn of August. Silly SOL! So, a week late please join us anyway for a virtual rerun of Stamford’s iconic annual overnighter from their club line out the sound to Buzzard's Bay Light near Martha's Vineyard Island and back again, leaving Block Island to starboard. This year, Sailonline is making its magic MC 38 available to competitors, a race boat with a quirky polar that will require you to stay wide awake as you speed around the c 250 nm course, in rockstar style!
