Board » Flag Officers » Rules and Decisions » 2019 SERVER RANKINGS - MANUAL REDRESS REPORT AREA

In this area SRC will log eventual redressing manual intervention on Series Rankings as they appear in the appropriate area in Home Page, describing in detail the reasons for each intervention.

THIS AREA IS NOT where to find re-dressings for protest .

At times the server does not regard the result of a single boat as it should be , for a number of minor technical reasons.

In those circumstances , as an anomaly is identified , we do NOT intervene with a server amendment , but log the result AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN here manually , and keep good track of the correct situation whenever we publish official results.

The case of the first anomaly of 2019 described below is a good example.

Happy SOLing ;)

SRC
RACE : INCHEON AIRPORT PYOC
CODE : SPRCH RACE 4
DATE OF START : MARCH 30TH 2019
====================================
boat "weekend" subscribed to SYC on 03/30/2019 at 17:51:09 , and crossed the line in this race as SYC member at 00:56:39 on 03/31/2019 or some 7 hours after subscribing.

The server did not catch up with his subscription in this race , as he registered in the race BEFORE being member….BUT the rule says that what counts for ISAF POINTS instead of DNC is being SYC member at the moment of crossing the finish line , and therefore the score for boat "weekend" in this race is manually amended as follows

SERVER SCORE : DNC 93
CORRECT SCORE : 30th WITH 30 POINTS

The correct score will always reflect in the ongoing of the SPRCH and SUPERSOLER provisional rankings as manually kept up to date and eventually published at the end of the year.

Considering boat “weekend” as SYC member for this race alters as well the result of Canada in the Team Rankings by Nation , as boat “weekend” with its 30th place results as second of the Canadian Team in this race.

To summarize : boat "weekend" has a credit of 63 points versus what appears in SPRCH 2019 AND SUPERSOLER 2019 rankings from server.

Boat "weekend" will appear in those rankings as from next Championship race he/she will undertake (SUPERSOLER) and as from next SPRINT Championship race he/she will undertake (SPRCH)

Due to well known occasional glitch the server has recorded boat “Wolff “ as DNF with better points

SERVER SCORE : DNF 94 WITH 94 POINTS
CORRECT SCORE : DNS WITH 115 POINTS

The correct score will always reflect in the ongoing of the SPRCH and SUPERSOLER provisional rankings as manually kept up to date and eventually published at the end of the year.

Refeno Rally 2024

Although since 1986 this 300nm course from Recife, Brazil, to Fernando Noronha Island has been run many times IRL, we have only used this route twice in SOL. This time it will be the route of the last race in the ARCH 2024 classification.
Although the winner of the general classification can already be determined, the fight for the next places on the podium should be fierce. There are several contenders and Dofour34 have them at their disposal. Since we are starting in Vida_Maldita's home waters, he will give us a 30-minute handicap. Or maybe we should give it to him? 😊

The Beagle in the Azores 2024

And west the Beagle went one final time to round the Cape of Good Hope on May 31 1836. Ashore, Darwin met up with the Astronomer Royal, Herschel, who just happened to be in South Africa at the same time mapping the southern skies. After sounding out his many ideas on evolution and extinction with Herschel, the Beagle now sailed north, stopping briefly in St Helena, Ascension and Brazil, and the Cape Verdes again, to reach the Azores on September 19, 1836. Fitzroy and Darwin at this stage were in a hurry to get back to Britain, but online in 2024 we will stay a little longer to explore this final remote archipelago in our virtual Tall Ship Class B Beagle, 630nm round and about the islands, minding as always in these waters not to bump into any large cetaceans!
