Good morning all.

Probably I didn't understood yet the full mechanics of this ranking system.

Some questions from here:

1 - The countries with less than #3 boats will be eligible for the rankings?

2 - In the score principle of "less points = better score", the countries with #3 or more boats won't be penalized in relation to the remaining ones (with less than #3)?

I think we have to find a 3rd portuguese sailor to have a chance in this ranking. We must convince some friends of ours.

Nuno is right and his idea is a good one : find another " strong " portuguese and escalate the TEAM rankings !

It is also true anyway that in the INDIVIDUAL part of the " by Nation " rankings Portugal is already in the top league . The YTD January that will be published as soon as the Up Helly Aa race will be closed will clearly show that !!.

As to Team Rankings :

In each race at least THREE SYC members of same nation need to finish ( DTG = 0 ) within top 150. Then the sum of the points of the best 3 of each nation qualifying will be done and the totals ranked from lower to higher . In case of tie will use same rule as in Championship races = best single results breaks the tie .

Hope you find this a good contribution ! ;)

I assure you that when you read the YTD January files everything will be fully clear.

Having crossed, re-crossed and re-re-crossed the Convergence Zones of the Pacific and the Atlantic, we now face our second crossing of the Convergence Zone of the World’s third great equator-spanning sea, the Indian Ocean, taking us from the channel between Masirah Island and the Oman mainland to the Chagos Archipelago.
