Board » Flag Officers » Rules and Decisions » NEW HEAD FOR SRC

Hi ALL my friends ;)

After about one year of interim leadership of the Sailonline Race Committee I have decided to step back and dedicate some time to the one SOL project that we have not yet launched , but deserves a good try : the setup of Regional activities .
As from January 01 2016 Richard ( aka Go4IT ) who is already an active member of the Race Committee Team , will lead the group with the aim of further enhancing the achievements of the past few years . My recommendation to the Board has been approved without reservations.
I will continue to be a member of the SRC Team in as far as Rankings and Prizes distribution are concerned . Besides , in my role of SOL COOrdinator , I will continue to assist the SRC Team whenever they will need .
The project called “ REGIONS” is an important part of the Document that defined the way ahead for Sailonline when we took over from the fathers founders some two years ago . It means establishing local responsibilities for growing the SOL base and tackling all possible opportunities that may arise for SOL throughout the globe. A number of you will hear from me soon about this ;)

In the meantime we all wish Richard good luck and congratulate with him for his new responsibilities.

Great moment to say to you ALL my friends

BUONE FESTE !! …( Season’s greetings )

Piero
;)
Thank you Piero for your stewardship!

Halifax to Hooper Bay 2024

And now it’s Autumn in the Arctic, the sun is permanently below the horizon, but during the day, from c 0900 to c 1700 local time, there is some twilight – nautical twilight, not to be confused with civil twilight which is brighter. Having receded all summer, ice is starting to return to the numerous straits and bays of Canada’s North West Passage. High time then to set off on our last leg of the High Latitudes Series from Halifax in Nova Scotia to Alaska’s Hooper Bay. It’s 3850nm and we need to hurry, so we’ll take the Pelagic 77!
