Good day all...

Are we not supposed to round Fernando de Noronha?
I like to talk a lot... sometimes I even make sense, mostly not...
Morning,
Starting time for the race we are not allowed to mention is 1400 CET.
Our race starts 1400 UTC - Is this on purpose or just a coincidence.

Could we have 1 degree wind square? The file would only be about 1MB. It should not be a problem for download speeds.
hey Dana, explain please?
I made an error setting up the wx system. The next update will be a proper 2x2 grid, increasing the filesize by 30% or so.

If we'd made it a 1x1 grid, we would have 10000 points in a grid, which is 10 times the limit we used a not long ago.

We try to keep the filesize down as much as possible so that people with bad or expensive connections can still keep soling.

I think it's possible to improve the client and server enough to use wx files of over 10000 points. But that needs people willing to and able to make those changes.
I don't yet have images of all the boats, but here are some links to those that visited Newport, RI this summer.

Just to advise SOLers that SRC is looking at the polar that we used for the first leg down to Cape Town to see if we can improve it.
However, you will still have to go the right way! We cannot help you with that.
Any new polar will be well promulgated before the start of Leg 2 so keep your eyes open.
