Mackinac Race belongs in July Not August

Racing to Mackinac is the highlight of the summer season for the Great Lakes as renowned sailors & their highly prized boats bring excitement and world class competition to Lake Huron & Lake Michigan.

This year's edition starts from Port Huron on Saturday, July 12, 2014 under the auspices of the Bayview Yacht Club

If the SOL Race committee intends to conduct a Super Mac it should coincide with this date & proceed to Chicago,

Yellowbrick Tracking of the fleet will be employed for the initial portion of this leg until we pass under the Mackinac Bridge.

It seems to me as if some dates are incorrect in the table, at least concerning TIMED races, or?

Maestro ....you are correct !! ....I already raised the issue to SRC attention ....It should be very easy to amend .....

Also asked that A2R point be answered .

Meanwhile apologies to you ALL for not completly correct calendar being published . SRC will surely step in and resolve quickly .

Hi ALL my friends ;)

1) amendments have been done and now the Calendar should be correct ...thanks for spotting some errors ..;)

2) A2R ....

I have investigated the matter with the SRC person responsible for week races . He was aware of all the details of the irl race , but was also aware that:
A)although sought , there has been no buddying opportunity
B) we had already run in March the same course
C) we have protected one slot in July until we knew that the buddying was not possible
D) wanted anyway keep a course in Summer on the Great Lakes as very popular in SOL.

3) As in March the same course was valid for SYC Championship , I have cancelled that duplication , and nominated the Vineyard race as SYCCH for August instead.

Hope this clarifies .....I am sure that in 2015 we will seek buddying with CHIMAC again .;)

Welcome to the first TIMED race of 2026! Our race finds us in the Gulf of Guinea and the Bight of Bonny. Starting in Douala, Cameroon the 170 nm course takes us around the island of Bioko with its Caldera and tropical rainforests finishing in Calabar, Nigeria. The boat for this race is the sporty Farr 30. This is a TIMEDrace so you may RE-REGISTER HEREto try again after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.

Natuna Sea Race 2026


At 4.0N 108.2E lies the island of Natuna Besar, Great Natuna, surrounded by at least 154 islands, of which 127 uninhabited, Indonesia’s Natuna Regency, and all around this archipelago, the Natuna Sea, bordered by Borneo to the east, the Java Sea to the south, and the Malay peninsula to the west, and extending north to cross a disputed international border with China into the South China Sea. And it’s a border that matters, there’s gas here! But why worry, let’s race – 2050nm in our goo’ol’ Open 60s in between the production platforms, prowling destroyers and submarines.

Cape Town to Rio 2026

Welcome to South Africa and RCYC's classic transatlantic Cape2Rio Race from Cape Town, South Africa, to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. First run in 1971, this run is buddied with the IRL, Cape2Rio 2025 arranged by the Royal Cape Yacht Club with the cooperation of the
Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro Despite this being announced the 2025 race (starting dec. 27) it is the 2026 SOL championship kickoff. This virtual version, will be raced once again in Mark Mills' 74ft speedster, the stunning C2R74.
