If you're still in control, you're not going fast enough.
good morning

SHINBLUE

Brainaid's website went down yesterday, 30 December.

When contacted, he tried to restart his server but was unable to, so has submitted a ticket to his server provider.

As soon as he is able, he will restore its functionality.
I have the polar for 90ft monohull in two formats: "detailed data as csv" (90f_monohull.csv) and "qtVLM polar" (boat_90f_monohull.csv). I have the data for the steinlager polar, but I have yet to find a way to convert it into a useful format.
I can't supply the Wx GRIB files.

I converted the Steinlager polar into a csv file, thanks to Svein for emailing me the raw data.

Attached the csv file.

Please let me know if problems occur.

GW, Arthur

BRAINAID WEBSITE UPDATE

Brainaid's server provider had a major RAID array failure (i.e., the hard drive) and is having to rebuild.

There is no time to complete this - perhaps later today/tomorrow.

Please just keep trying to connect.
As an SOTP (Seat Of The Pants) SOLer my knowledge of the resources is strictly limited ... BUT:

POLARS

Polars in txt format are available within each race via the Info tab (blue questionmark tab).

GRIBs

I understand you can register with NOAA to download their files and there is a grib reader at zygrib

obviously those of you using routers will, probably, have other sources of file-data/info, so do please share these here!

Maybe you have to replace the . with a , in my csv file, depending on language/international settings in Excel.
If you're still in control, you're not going fast enough.
Here is the detailed data as csv file for Steinlager II. Can be opened with spinnacer.
This file contains all data needed to create the other formats.

I see there's a qtVLM polar now, if there's any other format you'd like to have, give me an other polar in that format and I'll see what I can do.

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
