Last boat win. Sailing between to lanes. Now one can return inside this lane. If you do - you are out and end up as first.
Wow, you lost me there mate... Can you explain some more please. :-)
...one of the guys behind the game...
Hey Jakob.

We have "Slow food", "Slow City in Italy" etc. Why not a "Slow Sailing Race".

The start goes from a line or as we do inn SOL from one point. The lane/track (invisible will do it harder) is inside to lines that have 0-5 nm - ore more - apart from one another. A visible track in the middle of the lane. The end and the start of the track is narrowing in to the start/finish line or start/finish point. The whole lane can be as long as we wont it to be. But it should at least be over 8 hours with sailing. And it can be placed between island or on the open sea.

From start the boat have to move forwards and can not use TWA 0.0. They can sail lengthwise and crosswise (180 +/-) inside the track. But they have to move all the time in one direction to the finish line.

First boat over the finish line loose.
Last boat over the finish line win the game.
If they stop inside the track, they are out of game. Only excuse to stop is if TWS is 0.0
If they are outside the lane they are out of game.
No excuse for putting the boat onshore. Out of game with them as well.

To complete the race it demands good navigations abilities from the boat and that is perfect for this SOL game.

Registration for the game is not a start time. It is a end time for registration and after that it's closed. And the game starts 15 minute later. As long as the server is starting the first registration it's a clue to be last here as well. But if you take the chance to wait to long you can be out of the start as well, if the server is occupied with a lot off work as it can be before closing time.

The Vineyard Race 2025

For the first time since first hosting a virtual Vineyard in cooperation with Long Island's Stamford Yacht Club back in 2010, due to an operational calendaring error, Sailonline has missed the start of the real life race, the USA’s Labor Day weekend this year unusually falling across the turn of August. Silly SOL! So, a week late please join us anyway for a virtual rerun of Stamford’s iconic annual overnighter from their club line out the sound to Buzzard's Bay Light near Martha's Vineyard Island and back again, leaving Block Island to starboard. This year, Sailonline is making its magic MC 38 available to competitors, a race boat with a quirky polar that will require you to stay wide awake as you speed around the c 250 nm course, in rockstar style!

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
