Here is Tyger's descriptiion of this, our final leg in the AGage Around Australia series. The race will open for practice later today (Sunday, 9 June 2013).

"This is it, the final leg of the A3 Series, our gift to the memory of Aaron Gage known to us all as AGage. I am sure that we have all felt his spirit with us as we circumnavigated the great southern land that is Australia.

Appropriately, Leg 9, the journey home, starts in the channel between Fremantle and Rottnest Island. This channel was named ...Gage Roads... by the surveyor exploring the area in 1826.
Fremantle is the port city for Perth and is known in Aus as Freo. Freo is the home of America's Cup winner Australia 2 and Gage Roads was the location of the 1987 defence, the first defence not held by the New York Yacht Club.

Volvo Ocean Race, Whitbread and Vende Globe races have all either stopped here or had crew based here while tackling the Southern Ocean.

A 1300 NM dash south and then across the Great Australian Bight back to our starting point at BSYC in the Gulf of st Vincent."

RC - I was getting my geography confused. Adelaide and BSYC are next door in the Gulf of St Vincent. Could you make the appropriate edit here and anywhere else it appears. Thanx

Kalamata to Alanya 2024


For the beginning of the ARCH competition's third quarter, we will sail our boat, SOTO 40, from Kalamata, Greece over the Aegean Sea always eastward to the race finish, 520nm away, in Alanya, Turkey.

Kamchatsky to Tromsoe 2024

Just before the light failed entirely in Antarctica, Skip Novak managed to get his Pelagic 77 out of the ice and north up the Pacific to Kamchatsky. The sun is shining (24/7) and not a penguin to be seen, and Skip believes the Norh East Passage is ice-free (sufficiently) to attempt it, so all aboard for a c 4250nm voyage from east to west across the top of Siberia, Russia and Norway to Tromsoe!

Starting from the Royal Yacht Squadron Line, Cowes, IOW, a magnificent spectacle can be watched from The Parade, Cowes. The Cowes to St Malo Race is part of the RORC Season’s Points Championship, the world’s largest offshore racing series. Dating back to 1906, the Cowes to St Malo Race precedes all of the world’s famous races including the Fastnet Race. Southampton to Punta del Este 2024

Sailonline is delighted to offer our sailors a 'reversed' Atlantic ocean race. As the RTW championship Atlantic part takes a detour to the Bahamas, we will offer you a reversed course as we will not do the 'usual' leg this year either. It is the July edition of this year's Ocean Championship. Our boat is the OD_65v3.
