CORRECTION

hmm and robert1 have suggested that to get the optimal track for the SOL fleet so that it conforms with the performance of the VOR 2008 yachts, there just needs to be one waypoint E of NZ... so this has now been done. :-D

adjusted again ;-)

As SOL doesn't really handle gates but only waypoints that have to be passed always from the outside adding the NZ gate won't work that way.

My suggestion is to add a waypoint at around 36S 179E or so to make the boats go the same route as they went in 2008.

Tobruk to Iskenderun 2026

Welcome to the fourth of our nine races across the length and breadth of the Magical Mediterranean Sea, and the second that is not in partnership with a real-life event, this time for good reason, which we won’t get into here. From Tobruk to Iskenderun it’s 670nm in length, with the added complication that the island of Cyprus will be in your way. Hoping, possibly forlornly, for plenty of downwind sailing, we’ll take the Lagoon 55 for the voyage!
