At the beginning of the N Hemisphere summer, the Sailonline Yacht Club (SYC) invited all members to a club championship of three races - in July we raced 3500nm from Gran Canaria to Rio de Janeiro in 60ft trimarans, in August we raced 1300nm from Miami to Kingstown in VO70s, and finally just this past week saw a sprint race round Hong Kong again in 60ft trimarans.

Each race brought its own extraordinary challenges of technical skill and personal endurance, but probably the Hong Kong race was the most tricky to manage - overall, then, it can be said that the three courses truly tested the mettle of those participating and our podium three are therefore to be congratulated on their final ranking. Bravo and very well done guys!

As the last race before Sailonline.org transitions to majority ownership of the SYC Community, it is fitting that the Round Hong Kong race should also have decided the SYC Championship of 2013.

Please will the prizewinners email their postal addresses and choice of prizes (and Tee size for #1) to joanne@sailonline.org so that their winnings may be ordered and despatched promptly!

AGage TIMED 100 Race 2025

SOL's gift to the memory of AGagewas a yearlong series of races circumnavigating Australia. This 100 nm race takes place in the St. Vincent Gulf off Adelaide to mark 12 years since the too-sudden end to the life of this remarkable SOLer. These were Aaron's home waters - he was a total competitor so... race to win! Please take the time to read the many tributes left in his memory. This is a TIMED race, so you may RE-REGISTER HERE to try again, after finishing a run. You will have 13 days and 11 hours to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.
