Another fabulous race from Team Italia and from nacrr - thank you for the master class!

Race Report from WINSTON_4
This race did not give us great technical options. All upwind , with a few apparent choices , but really it was all about managing the few shifts and avoiding a couple of major islands and several typically caribbean rocks ;)

The fleet managed to sail mainly in open waters , and the only moment of endurance and stress was during one single night , when we needed to tack in front of solid and large costal rocks . The fight between myself and admiral ITA was based on his highly superior skills on sailing and fighting from behind , and my superior availability to relinquish sleep . It was in fact during that night that , whilst his DC fired perfectly and he was sleeping like an angel , I was in front of PC not trusting my own DC and maneuvering manually . After the tack north I saw that there was an opportunity for another leg East early morning , so I set a couple of conservative DCs and went to sleep at 0400am local ..... when back I had gained that 0.3/0,4 that I fought hard to keep from there to the end .

As for the rest of the fleet , those who did choose to fly the southern route , found themselves with a horrible angle during the last 600 miles or so , and had no chance to compete with the northern fleet.

The third and final race of the SYCC 2013 championship will be a real decider!

Regata dell’Accademia Navale 2026

Welcome to Sailonline’s partnership with the City of Livorno (Leghorn say the English) in cooperation with the local yacht clubs and the Italian Navy, offering all the online opportunity to race the famous Regata dell’Accademia Navale - 630nm in length. Starting and finishing in Livorno, this year the race takes you the length and breadth of the Tyrrhenian Sea via little Mortorio (Mortoriotto) off Sardinia to Capri and home again to Livorno. This race also counts towards Sailonline’s Magical Mediterranean Series and the SuperBuddy title. Online, you will be sailing a Mini 6.50, to give you a match against several of the real-life entrants, which you will be able to track on-screen!

Rommel by Balloon 2026 - Through the Sahara


Generalfeldmarschall Johannes Erwin Eugen Rommel may have been that chivalrous, gallant tank commander of legend, led astray by the Prussian military traditions of loyalty and chain of command, but one thing he wasn’t, was mad. So, let’s do it anyway – not stick to the coast and the battle for logistical superiority – but depart the oases of Siwa south west into the desert for Agadez and its uranium. And let’s go by balloon, it’s only 2500km (1250nm)!

Falklands to Tasmania 2026

Welcome to yet another all-new route. This next race is part of our Ocean Championship as well as the ROW series. Falklands to Tasmania, is like last year's island to island. It’s one of the longer ones 6400nm, more than half way around the world (and the Antarctica). It starts the 2026 OCQ2, and will be sailed in our Steinlager 2, contrary to prior notice.
