CONGRATULAZIONI WINSTON_4 and aner59!!! GOOD ONYA Tyger!

TUR_AC's Sail Around Turkey is a wonderful race - a truly challenging tour of the Turkish coastline. This is the fourth time the course has been run and there really are three clear sections to it - the Black Sea (which can have light and shifty winds), the Bosphorus and Dardanelles (which are narrow and require a lot of attention) and then the charming MedCoast "cruise". Usually there is a degree of chopping and changing in the leading group as the three sections provide different challenges. This year, however, one SOLer just left the rest of the fleet hanging .. WINSTON_4, who sails with full energy and attention, just brought all his skills to bear on this race and won it by a margin of more than 4 hours!! The podium all arrived on 12 August - the rest of the remainder started arriving the next day! That only 14 boats have arrived at time of writing, 16hrs after WIN arrived, tells you just how remarkable the top finishers are! Stunning SOLing - thank you for the masterclass!

This race was won between the start and the first mark in the Black Sea . Finding the right approach to Sinop and then to the Bosphore was the key . After that it has been an almost continoust story of " rich gets richer" , thanks to increasing pressure in front of the fleet. and only concentration , sleep deprivation and endurance were needed to avoid the zillion rocks and make the WPs .......As I said in chat this race is not about RANKING ...it is about ..FINISHING , and I insist that all the boats who have finished this epic race should be given a standing ovation ...ONE BY ONE ...;)))

Regata dell’Accademia Navale 2026

Welcome to Sailonline’s partnership with the City of Livorno (Leghorn say the English) in cooperation with the local yacht clubs and the Italian Navy, offering all the online opportunity to race the famous Regata dell’Accademia Navale - 630nm in length. Starting and finishing in Livorno, this year the race takes you the length and breadth of the Tyrrhenian Sea via little Mortorio (Mortoriotto) off Sardinia to Capri and home again to Livorno. This race also counts towards Sailonline’s Magical Mediterranean Series and the SuperBuddy title. Online, you will be sailing a Mini 6.50, to give you a match against several of the real-life entrants, which you will be able to track on-screen!

Rommel by Balloon 2026 - Through the Sahara


Generalfeldmarschall Johannes Erwin Eugen Rommel may have been that chivalrous, gallant tank commander of legend, led astray by the Prussian military traditions of loyalty and chain of command, but one thing he wasn’t, was mad. So, let’s do it anyway – not stick to the coast and the battle for logistical superiority – but depart the oases of Siwa south west into the desert for Agadez and its uranium. And let’s go by balloon, it’s only 2500km (1250nm)!

Falklands to Tasmania 2026

Welcome to yet another all-new route. This next race is part of our Ocean Championship as well as the ROW series. Falklands to Tasmania, is like last year's island to island. It’s one of the longer ones 6400nm, more than half way around the world (and the Antarctica). It starts the 2026 OCQ2, and will be sailed in our Steinlager 2, contrary to prior notice.
