Hi racers and welcome to China! Here we can have a well earned rest and eat some decent food again. Well done to the boats already in port and congratulations to our leg winners. Mac made it to the finish first in a nailbiting conclusion of a very tough leg. He managed to keep Brainaid behind who finished in a solid second place. Third place goes to Skalis who sailed his boat to a nice third place. Enjoy the party at the dockside, beers and steaks are waiting for all the boats. Next race is a inport and the leg 5 marathon leg of 12300 nm starts the 14th. Be sure to be well prepared! Greetings // the Sailonline team.

Hello boys! Just got to port. In the beginning I found it a bit difficult to get the hang of this race. I have been sailing on the vedee globe and found out about this race from a friend. Now with more experience here, this layout of the race is sooo much better. Thanks SOR team!!!!

New Ice Age 2026 - Scott Base to Neumayer Station


To complete our DN circumnavigation of Antarctica and our 4-race ice-boat marathon series, we continue clockwise, now departing from Scott Base back to Neumayer Station. It’s about 3500nm back as well, which, as said if there’s wind at all, should, well-wrapped in your DN-cockpits, not take you much more than five days. And remember: charts down here are unreliable – what is land and what is ice?!

Cross the Convergence 2026 - Tenerife to Fernando de Noronha


The sixth race of our series of ocean voyages across the World’s convergence zones takes us back up the Atlantic to Tenerife, from whence we will depart on a classic transatlantic passage to Brazil’s Fernando de Noronha. It’s 2150nm as the albatross flies, but you will undoubtedly have to take some and sometimes sudden detours to get your Volvo 70v4 through the doldrums stretching across your path from the Amazon to the Niger.
