    In short:

A series to sail around islands in each of the Seven Seas plus the Mediterranean. Normalize the distances to around 1000nm by expanding the circumnavigation course.

Probably about a week per island. Guarantees every point of sail and a mix of open water and inshore / channel navigation. See attachment for details.

Iceland in the Arctic Ocean (800nm)

Newfoundland in the North Atlantic Ocean (1100nm)

The Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean (580nm) in a figure 8

Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean (700nm)

Hokkaido in the North Pacific Ocean (950nm)

Tasmania in the South Pacific Ocean (750nm)

The Kerulen's in the Southern (or Antarctic) Ocean (~300nm)

Plus 1: Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea (500nm)

Using a Win 10 Dell Latitude

Been trying to get QT to play with AGL. qt is not getting the NMEA feed. Badger1 and I looked at all settings but were stumped. Any help appreciated. Read thru forum for tips...none that I could find apply.

I'm new to Win10 so is there a security hangup?

AGL says NMEA server started and ready for connection on port 5010.

My Boat info is correctly showing in AGL.

qt NMEA settings correspond to AGL's and match what I use on my Mac.

    any thoughts?

    Hi Kipper,

So I have AGL working but I have not been a PC guy for a long time and it looks like I need to buy the full version of qtVLM to do much of anything useful.

Looking forward to working things out! Thanks for what was/is a ton of work.

The Godwit migrates from Alaska to New Zealand in the Northern fall, then back to Alaska via Japan/China/Korea in the Southern Fall. A total of over 29,000km

    https://www.sciencelearn.org.nz/resources/296-flight-of-the-godwit

The bird stokes up on food and flies over a week straight with out stopping, feeding, or sleeping...sound familiar?

    Three legs are required:
    1. Anchorage to Wellington
    2. Wellington to to Hegura, Japan in the Sea of Japan.
    3. Hegura back to Anchorage.

Perhaps an existing race — Melbourne to Osaka comes to mind — could become part of the "SOL-er Migration" Series?

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
