SAILING INSTRUCTIONS INPORT RACE:
CAPE TOWN

RACE AREA: South Atlantic Ocean.

BOATS: Volvo 70 Class only.

START: Saturday, November 13th 19:00 UTC at Cape Town.
Royal Cape Yacht Club will lay a start line between anchored committee boat and large orange buoy S33.870 / E18.150 approximately due EAST offshore Cape Town Harbour.

COURSE:
Starting from NORTH WEST to SOUTH EAST,
Passing Cape of Good Hope, (One of the three traditional sailing “Great Capes”, along with Cape Leeuwin Western Australia & Cape Horn, South America that traditionally separated the Atlantic from the Indian Oceans),
Passing laid mark 34.150S / 18.68E to Port, but either way will work.

Finish from SOUTH EAST to NORTH WEST offshore of Cochin, India.
Distance 90nm approximately.

FINISH: at starting line between Committee Boat and large orange buoy, N9.915 / E 76.200 approximately.

CAUTIONS:
All mark positions given are approximate and in the format displayed by race client program.

Correct large scale charts must be used.
There are no special fairway marks or obstructions.

PRIZES:
Cajun Queen T-Shirt for 1st, 2nd and 3rd to finish.
Mt Gay Rum for first “Kiwi” yacht to finish.
Other prizes may be announced.

T-SHIRTS: Send an email to info@cajunqueeneurope.com with size of your T-Shirt and full address. Sizes are S, M, L, XL and there are female shirts as well.

Cross the Convergence 2026 - Tenerife to Fernando de Noronha


The sixth race of our series of ocean voyages across the World’s convergence zones takes us back up the Atlantic to Tenerife, from whence we will depart on a classic transatlantic passage to Brazil’s Fernando de Noronha. It’s 2150nm as the albatross flies, but you will undoubtedly have to take some and sometimes sudden detours to get your Volvo 70v4 through the doldrums stretching across your path from the Amazon to the Niger.

Palk Bay TIMED Race 2026

This month’s TIMED race takes us to the shallow waters of Palk Bay located between India and Sri Lanka. Sail the impressive MC 38 around a roughly 140 nm course through two narrow channels before returning to the start/finish line in Jaffna.
This is a TIMEDrace so you may RE-REGISTER HEREto try again after finishing a run. You will have two weeks to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.

The British Isles Circumnavigation is here! Inviting skippers to take on an epic 1,720nm clockwise voyage around Britain and Ireland! Starting and finishing in Cowes, the course passes some of the most iconic landmarks in offshore sailing, including Fastnet Rock, Tearaght Lighthouse, Black Rock, St. Kilda and Muckle Flugga before the long run home.
