Board » Technical Support » Crash of Flash related tabs in Chrome

Howdy SOLers.
Using Chrome while SOLing, at last once a day my open SOL tabs are freezing and no further Client-Tab is updated anymore.
The only thing that helps is to close Chrome and restart it. As you can imagine this is more or less critical during a race.

Does anybody of you have similiar problems using Chrome? Any suggestions ?

To show some details of this Chrome-behavior, i attached some Screenshots

Shot 1: Msgbox in chrome http://up.picr.de/10929128ln.jpg
'Seiten beenden' means 'close tabs'
'warten' means 'wait'

Shot 2: Client is no more updated http://up.picr.de/10928991cm.jpg

Shot 3: These are the tabs i had currently open, just SOL-related ones. http://up.picr.de/10928993cj.jpg

Have a nice weekend
Regards Poco (Achim)

Hi Poco

Using chrome and win7 , never experienced this problem. However i seldomly leave my tabs open for more then 24 hours .

I get continually the message "ShockWave flash is inoperative and needs to close"
I use Chrome for all my 'sailing'---and I do not understand......
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
I use Chrome on Win 7 Pro 64bit. Haven't had the problem while SOLing but have in the past. I now run a freeware named Secunia PSI (secunia.com/products/consumer/psi) to make sure all versions of apps are up to date. Making sure you have the latest version of Chrome and Flash seems to help and after each race I run CCleaner to clear the crap out of temp files. I did run SOL contiuously in the Lindisfarne Raid without any probs. I run SOL in a seperate window with maybe only 2 or 3 tabs for Brainaid other SOL stuff like Google Earth. I then use Firefox for any other browsing I may do while SOLing. Hope that helps. Oh, I also have 2 x 24" Samsung 1920x1200 monitors driven by an nVidia Quadro FX 1800 graphics card :-)

Similar freezing behaviour of Chrome here (and Safari and Firefox are even worse…)
